Got home today to have Mr lala tell me that after july he will no longer have a job ,he does contract work and they are not renewing his contract......i have been in tears since ( and this sounds so selfish) as we were due to book our venue next month , i really dont know what to do i feel completely useless

try not to prospone just yet as something may come up soon, instead concentrate on ways to save money on things for your wedding. like making the invites and favours with your bridesmaids (great evcuse to open a bottle of wine or 3! lol) or asking a friend or family member to take the photos or make your cake etc..... you'll be suprised how much you can save by doing things yourself!! xxx

Your story sounds a lot like mine! Had to cancel our wedding yesterday as most of you know, lol, and i was in tears and angry with Greg, though he couldn't help having to have a knee op. I think it is normal to feel selfish, but with all the planning and buying, it is so gutting to have it all fall around you, but Dove is right, you do still have each other and you will get married even if it isn't the date you originally planned. May not cheer you up at the minute, it took me a couple of days to get my head round it and turn it into a positive, thinking well at least i can have the wedding i want with me not having to do so much myself. But i do hope it turns out ok for you and that your h2b gets more work so you won't have to change anything. xx

our current date is actually our 5th! we have had a number of hic ups from lack of money, to falling pregnant and refusing to change my dress lol, to the latest being that my dad's very rare skin cancer worsened (hes now getting treatment so hopefully be well enough next year) it is hard but now we've changed the venue and made it even better xx

I am glad i am not the only one MrsGroves2b! This is the 3rd date we have set, the first 2 due to h2b knee op and after affects money wise. I am sure it will go ahead this time, but who knows what might crop up! Sorry to hear about your dad, horrible thing to deal with. My dad has prostate cancer, his 3rd kind, but can't do anything for him any more, and it is just so upsetting. So i hope everything goes ok for you and your wedding! xx

I know how it feels lala, it 'should' have been our 1st wedding anniversary next month. It's gutting but Dove & GregorysGirl are right, as long as you've got each other that's all that really matters. You'll get through it and I really hope you can find a way to go ahead with the wedding, there's so many ways to save money.
If it helps you out a bit then you're more than welcome to borrow my wedding dress (if it fits you of course) and I know all too well that that's one major cost gone ;) xxx

we have decided to wait a couple of weeks then email then venue and sort od explain what is happening
i still feel so sick over it all , went to docs last night over something else and she did my blood pressure and then said "oh thats high" what a B l oo dy surprise !!!!!
At least you are doing something positive, and it is a good thing to give yourself time and not just postpone in a rush, when your h2b will more than likely get another job, especially as he is trying so hard! I know it is easier said than done, (i was in a state the day we cancelled), but try and chill out, whether it's having a long soak in the bath, or just a lie down, you just need to take time out. Everything will be ok, even if you find you do have to postpone, you still have the love of your life and you will support each other. :) *hugs* x

aw *lalabunni*, please dont worry, i was in similar situation in march. Whilst i was pricing suit hire, H2B was having his salary cut (substantially) and for a month or so i darent mention the wedding. anyway when we had got our head around situation and put our house on market, I approached all my wedding suppliers and they all agreed to move my date and were brilliant about it. needless to say im currently out of the 'ukbride' addiction but slowly but surely getting back into the swing of things! things always look bad from the offset but i can honestly say when my chips were down the first place i came was on here for advice/opinions and the girls were fab. once you think about it postponement is better than cancellation and i still think of it as another 6 mths without pre-wedding diet.
it will all seem better it time, believe me. xx
