    This is my speech

    My Speech

Hi everybody. I just want to say thank you all for coming and making it special for us. People who know me really well will know that its really hard to shut me up sometimes so I will try my best to keep it short as possible.

I’ve not only married Neil today but I have also married my best friend, I couldn’t marry my other best friend because she’s a female, and she’s already married, sorry Keg.

There’s loads of things I want to say but I did say I would try and keep it short, so firstly I would like to thank Keg for giving me away today without her support I think I would have turned into a bridezilla, secondly I would like to say thank you to my bridesmaids Bethany and Shannon and also to my beautiful flower girl Derryn. I would also like to thank Thomas for doing his duties as an Usher and want to say how smart he looks today. Lastly I would like to say thank you to Shannon and Thomas for the poem and reading they read earlier.

There is one last thank you that I would like to say. There is a very special person in this room that has flown all the way from Greece to share this special day with us and that is my Grandma. It isn’t just a special day for Neil and I its also a special day for my Grandma and Granddad as its their wedding anniversary today as well. My Granddad couldn’t be here today but I know that he will be thinking of us whereas my Grandma is so I would like you all to raise your glasses for one last toast to my Grandma and Granddad, Ann and Tony.

    And my extra Vows

I Stephanie Ann Richards, take you Neil Mark Lapworth to be my husband, my partner in life and my one true love. I will cherish our union and love you more each day than I did the day before. I will trust you and respect you, laugh with you and cry with you, loving you faithfully through good times and bad, regardless of the obstacles we may face together. I give you my hand, my heart, and my love, from this day forward for as long as we both shall live.

This is my daughters reading that she read before the ceremony.

    Love

    I love you,
Not only for what you are,
    But for what I am
    When I am with you.

    I love you,
    Not only for what
    You have made of yourself,
    But for what
    You are making of me.

    I love you
    For the part of me
    That you bring out;
    I love you
    For putting your hand
    Into my heaped-up heart
    And passing over
    All the foolish, weak things
    That you can't help
    Dimly seeing there,
    And for drawing out
    Into the light
    All the beautiful belongings
That no one else had looked
    Quite far enough to find.

    I love you because you
    Are helping me to make
Of the lumber of my life
    Not a tavern
    But a temple;
    Out of the works
    Of my every day
    Not a reproach
    But a song.

    I love you
    Because you have done
    More than any creed
    Could have done
    To make me good,
    And more than any fate
    Could have done
    To make me happy.
    You have done it
    Without a touch,
    Without a word,
    Without a sign.
    You have done it
    By being yourself.
    Perhaps that is what
    Being a friend means,
    After all.

This is my son's poem that he read after the Vows.

    On Your Wedding Day

Today is a day you will always remember
    The greatest in anyone’s life.
You’ll start off the day just two people in love
And end it as Husband and Wife.

It’s a brand new beginning the start of a journey
With moments to cherish and treasure.
And although there’ll be time when you both disagree
These will surely be outweighed by pleasure.

You’ll have heard many words of advice in the past
When the secrets of marriage were spoken.
But you know that the answers lie hidden inside
Where the bond of true love lies unbroken.

So live happy forever as lovers and friends
It’s the dawn of a new life for you.
As you stand there together with love in your eyes
From the moment you whisper ‘I do’.

And with luck, all your hopes and dreams can be real
May success find it’s way to your hearts.
Tomorrow can bring you the greatest of joys
But today is the day it all starts.

And this is my eldest daughters speech who was chief bm.

    My Speech

I’m not the biggest fan of giving speeches but I will make exceptions for today. Before I get to the point I would like to say thanks to mum and Neil for letting me be chief bridesmaid, I really appreciate them for giving me such an important role.

I have only lived with Neil for nearly 5 years now and I have just realised that I didn’t really know him that well. Thanks Andrew for filling me in.

Mum and Neil first met each other in 2004. It started of as a normal friendship but it only started to develop in 2006 after me, Shannon and Thomas said something that gave them a good old kick up the bum. They didn’t really go on a proper date but Neil took mum to Sidari in Greece. It was meant to be a holiday to relax and get a break from us three but then it turned into a holiday they wouldn’t forget in a long time as he ended up proposing to her on the first night there.
When they came back it was the first thing they told us and it brought happiness to us all, even to this day and especially this very moment the happiness still continues.

Now as you can probably tell Neil is the joker in the house and makes everyone laugh wherever he is. Ha has really been there for me, Shannon and Thomas and has played a big part in our lives and I personally would like to thank him for that and I really appreciate him doing that for us.
He has made mum really happy and I have never seen her smile so much but I enjoy seeing mum smile and I’m sure Shannon an Thomas do as well.

I think it’s about time I shut up now so please raise your glasses’ again for mum and Neil. May their happiness last forever. To Steph and Neil who look absolutely stunning today.
