Well my H2B was asking when we got my engagement ring about engagement rings for men.
He had a look at some things he liked and I suggested we look for matching bands (which could work out cheaper than buying two seperate). and if he was happy with that using his as an engagement one then as the wedding band also,
This would mean he gets his ring and its one less expense nearer the day.
Is anyone else thinking about matching bands?

well in my country where i come from we do have matching engagement and wedding rings so engagement ring is worn on left hand both h2b and w2b and than the wedding rings are worn both on the right hand from both so each has 2rings ...

It's the same in Norway, you get matching bands for the engagement, but we exchange them for the wedding rings on the day (some ppl use the same rings to save money though). So only one set of rings in the end. We engrave the others name on the inside for the day, so they are not engraved until the wedding, usually with "Your b2b name" and "Your h2b name"
Did that make sense? lol. A lot of my friends are jealous of my engagement ring as theirs are a plain band, whilst I got a sparkly ring ;D

I got Steve an engagement ring, but it doesn't match mine. I got him something that he would be happy to wear but that wasn't too much like a wedding band, and he's quite happy with it. We have matching wedding rings though, and I will be getting his engraved before the wedding as a surprise :)

We are def thinking of the matching wedding bands. We need to find something that will go with my engagement ring and that we both like!! If we get them soon then i will be keeping mine at my parents for safe keeping until the wedding and chris will use his for engagement and wedding i think. X x x

my h2b doesn't want matching wedding bands because i have to get a gold band to go with my engagment ring (mainly gold) my h2b wants a white gold wedding band!!
this is annoying me as i thought you had to have matching wedding bands or is this just me becoming obsessive lol

We're having matching wedding bands - just plain white gold bands although mine is 18ct because of my engagement ring, and H2B's is 8ct - also his is 7mm and mine is 3mm. H2B did want an engagement ring, but decided against it as he wouldn't wear it alongside his wedding ring so would be money we didn't need to spend really x

we arent having matching rings ......i want a diamond set ring and at the moment Mr lala is thinking of using a ring i bought him a couple of years ago

Ignore the jewellers - get what you want! We have matching wedding bands - it's funny reading this, becuase out of all our friends that are married, we are the only ones who have matching rings.

I thought a jeweller would be more likely to try & get us to spend more on wedding bands but they seem to be putting me off any bling ones :-( They keep telling me that my engagment ring has enough bling in it!!
I think i'll be going to someone that will let me just look at whatever I want!! lol

I would have expected then to do the same ... but I guess it depends on the jeweller - but also the ring. My friend has a diamond set platinum wedding band, and said it was cheaper to have little diamonds all the way round than it was to have a plain platinum band!

nicole - that's part of the reason I only wanted a plain band, as my engagement ring is really fancy, so didn't want to take away from that - it has 3 mounted diamonds, then two smaller diamonds on each side - the mount itself is quite fancy too so I personally wanted a plain band to compliment it :)

Kaytee thats kinda like mine, ive got 3 mount diamonds & 3 diamonds at each side of the mount. I have seen a gorgeous wedding band though that is hald diamonds but the jeweller totally put me off it :-(

My h2b wants a titanium one but jewler we looked at said they dont do his size. Thats why we thought of the matching bands and to take cost down coz its sometimes cheaper getting both together. I have found a cute set where the ladies one is slightly thinner and has three small diamonds in it. The also both together cost cheaper than my engagement ring!!

Yeh only trouble we have had is finding somethingnwe both like but h2b seems happy with the ones weve found just need to see if we need to pay for full price altogether or can pay it up x x x

I just know that i wouldnt be happy with a plain band like my h2b, i would want it changed after a yr or 2 lol

Me and h2b aren't having matching bands because my engagement ring was made it's A wishbone with 3 diamonds on it and I'm also having one the same for my wedding ring but in gold (engagement is White gold) with 3 diamonds on the opposite side to my engagement. h2b has an engagment ring which he wishes to use as his wedding ring I personally don't want him to as it is titanium or however u spell it haha and I would like him to have a gold one but he not bothered as he is a plumber and doesn't want to ruin it so we shall see. X

I don't think guys are ever fussed about the ring.
My h2b had said he wasn't having a wedding ring because he already wears a ring at the moment which was a present from years ago (before we meet) I told him in no uncertain terms was i getting married unless he had a ring aswell lol.

Oh he is getting a ring now!! I couldn't get married to someone that thought it was ok for me to wear a ring but not them, hell no!!! lol.
We are going to leave it until maybe start of next yr to order them anyways, i think i have loads of time but with birthdays & christmas then time will fly in
