my church does not privide hyme books : ( its up to me to privide the words, is your OOS like a little booklet then ? are you printing your service word for word or just using head titles ? x

I'm printing mine in the order of service as well! It's only 2 and I know it would annoy me everyone rustling paper trying to find the right sheet!
Word of advice though, make sure that the congregation don't have to turn over in the middle of a hymn! And if you need help let me know, our vicar gave us a couple of OOS from previous weddings! xx

The vicar should have told you what order they need you to do it in!

Hi there, I'm doing the same as Jennebel, the vicar gave us someone elses order of service for a starting point and they had put them in and only had 2.
There's a lot of detail on this OOS too that the vicar said you don't need, like a list of who's who on the first page, and also they put the names next to each person doing readings and what the readings are. She said 'readings' is enough and so you can cut down on length sometimes without realising - but again all down to personal preference. Ours has been very helpful with us and said was happy to check it in draft, so might be worth asking yours for some advice.
thanks kaz. we have a problem thou our victor who is marring us is new and does not come into our parish till 3 weeks till our wedding so things are panicking me a little its all gonna be last min and i didnt want that, so trying to get what i can get done now.....oh and to make matters worse my parnter works in the indian ocean and goes away all the time he is back 3 day before the wedding !!!!!

That's a good idea Kaz. If you need other help there's a website if you google about your church wedding, it its on the sheets our vicar gave us. They give you a selection of popular hymns, readings etc.
Good luck with it all. x

Sorry they came out fuzzy, I've stuck a link on your wall to the site Dee was on about, you put what you want in and it'll show you how the service will look, it will only let you put in one reading though! And here's the list of what we were told we need to put:-
Front of OOS
Include "Order of Service", The Marriage of (both your names), place of Marriage and date!
The Bride's Arrival: (then next to or underneath) Music you are walking in to!
The Welcome: Vicar's Name
Hymn: Title of Hymn and then the words
(These next 3 are just written in bold with no explaination) The Preface
The Declarations
The Collect
Reading: State the reading name eg Song of Soloman, and the name of the person reading
Reading: Same as above if having two!
The Address: Vicar's Name
Hymn: As above
The Marriage
The Vows
The Giving and Receiving of Rings
The Proclaimation
Signing of the Registers: If using your own music state title and singer/composer here!
Prayers
The Lord's Prayer: Include the words!!!
The Blessing of the Marriage
Departure of the Bride and Groom: State music title and singer/composer here!
And that's all, some peole have added a section at the back thanking everyone involved. If you do this don't forget to thank the Vicar first and include all wedding party, incl ushers and witnesses!
Hope that helps hun? xx

That looks like the one I have too, good to know they're all pretty similar. I did a google and there's word templates for layouts, just doing mine as we speak.
Well done Kaz doing your own cake :-)

our minister gave us a draft copy of an OOS to go off, we have printed the words in ours but be careful, i copied and pasted 1 hymn from google and there were a few words that differed from the hymn used in the church so we had to alter it so it was exact, also we had to have the composers name and details at the end of each hymn. if you do a draft and show the vicar who is at the church now. surely the new vicar will have the same rules for the church. ours is very similar to kaz's :) x
21st October 2011 will be the best day of my life!!!
