My Mom first got married when she was 17. But back then it was fine lol H2B's N+G were married at 16! Maybe you should try styles for your wedding day that will make you look older? x

    Me too Rags :P

Don't worry about people thinking you're too young or whatever... it happens to most of us younger ones(I'm 21 next month) and there isn't really anything you can do... people will judge and make comments but at the end of day its not about them, it's about you and your fiancé.

Lots of parents and grandparents were married at 16-18 , which was the standard back then. When we get married, both me and h2b will be 21. And like Rags said, you have more time to enjoy marriage and the years ahead of you if you get married younger :)
Me and h2b both want to get married now because whether we do it next year or in five years won't change the fact that we want to do it... why wait for the sake of it?

just think most of us are able to have babies at 10 years old and a couple hundred years ago, well a little more they worried if yotu werent married and had a child by age 12, but also they only lived till they were about 40. so its just gone up because our life expectancy has. Ill be 24 when we marry, pauls mum married at 8 and my mum at 21. i was engaged at 20and at 18 with previous partner (didnt last long after engagement i'll admit) but that wasnt because of my age. Just think they say a man doesnt get any maturer than he is at the age of 17. does that mean men shouldnt get married lol. Tht there are so many oppotunities you get these days, but you can do them as couple. just ignore them hun.

If I'd have met h2b when we were young I'd have been marrying him by the time I was 16! Unfortunately I had to put up with a couple of di c k head boyfriends who really messed with my head for a few years, then get over that and learn to love me again, be happy on my own so as soon as I got that down, I met h2b. I knew I was gonna marry him within about 3-4 months :)

I'm only 22 and I look young for my age as well (my sister is sixteen and people occasionally think she is my older sister). A lot of my friends have said they think I'm too young but none of my family have. I think if you're clear about what you want out of life and know that your partner will fit in with that then that's all that matters.

In terms of suppliers and so on the only person who has been rude to me so far was a saleswoman in a bridal shop and I don't know what her problem was, maybe my age or something else but she was really snappy and made me feel like it was a huge effort for her to help me try things on.

i will be 29 when we get married but people tell me i look younger (some one told me that i look 20 max...bless him lol)
I wouldnt change my dress, hair or anything to make me look older if i were you! wear what you want, marry when you are ready and have a fabulous day! xx

I was 19 when I married my first husband and had 2 beautiful daughters, my marriage only broke down because of his drinking and abuse in latter years. My youngest daughter got married at 16, our family history is of younger marriage. In fact when I was in my teens (im 60 now) things were totally different, if you were not married by 20 you were classed as "on the shelf"!

Im a little shocked that people are saying 24/25 is too young, im so glad someone hasnt said that to me or they'd be recieving a few choice words, it just surprises me the change of attitude in just one generation my parents and most of my auntie/uncles got married between the age of 17-20 which seems that that was an acceptable age at this time (late 70's early 80's) yes some marriages failed, others are going strong, but now it seems frowned upon to get married young.

p.s if the people at the venues look down on you, i wouldnt give them my buiness personally

It depends on the couple to whether things work out or not and has nothing to do with age. I do think that as you grow older you change as a person as in you want different things in life, change you hobbies and lifestyle but that doesn't mean that the relationship has to break down. You will find that some people grow apart and want other things from each other but others grow together and still want the same things. No one can see into the future and predict what is going to happen. It doesn't matter what age you are if you are happy and in love then that is all that matters. Life is too short to worry about what could happen years down the line. Follow your heart. x

No, I've never been happier with anyone except H2B, I did freak out last year, it got to the 1.5 year mark, and I panicked and broke up with him. Then I realised we were perfect together, and we moved in together straight after getting back together. I nearly lost my chance with him and he's perfect for me, age should never be an issue. I think 16 is too young too - I bet it doesn't last. But there is always a chance it might, and if it doesn't they will just get divorced and that's not really such a big deal nowadays is it? Obviously they would never go into the marriage thinking that, but that's probably what their parents were thinking!

Did anyone see Cherry gets Married? On that there was a 16 year old girl whose boyfriend had proposed after only 5 days!! The girl's mother had told them they had to wait until they were 18, but his mother was really excited about it! Cherry asked if the mother thought her son was too young and she said no, definitely not, if they were in love they should go for it - she had been married young too. How long did that last? Six weeks!

By the end of the show the girl was pregnant and her future mother in law was pregnant too - with her 9th child. THAT'S the real commitment after all, and there are plenty of teens stumbling into that without even thinking about it. You can get a divorce anytime, but they can never take that one back!

i will be 21 when we get married and my OH 22. We have had people say that i am nothing more than a 'child bride' and we are stupid for getting married so young. However its usually strangers who say these things as the people who actually know us as a couple know how mature we both are and how we understand the value of marriage.
