You need to give notice of your marriage 12 months before your wedding date.

We paid £35 to secure a registrar and will need to pay a further £35 each when we attend to give our notice. We then just need to pay the remaining balance 4 weeks before the wedding

You need to contact the council of the area your getting married in to secure your registra, then you contract your local council to give notice.

Have you booked your venue yet? If you ask them they will be able to let you know who you need to contact and their contact details. We organised ours over the phone, but some places will not let you provisionally book which means you'd need to wait 12 months before you can book a registrar x

of your getting married in registry office or a place of approval rather than a chuch u give notice at your local rgistry office its valid for 12mnth

church wise its all done there on the day (and u can book years in advance lol) u dont need.to give notice if u choose church as your bans r read out over 3 mnths before the wedding which is in their way your intent to marry x

Emma: yes, you need to book a registrar with the district you are marrying in, otherwise it won't be a legal ceremony (eg some people choose to have a friend marry them/officiate, but this isn't legal, so they would then need to have a ceremony at the registry office). You also need to give notice between 12 months and 15 days before the wedding at the registry office in the district that you live in.

How about open a savings account like isa to save the money for the wedding so you don't accidentally spend it.
