I just got an email from our humanist celebrant reminding us that we should get our M10? (could just be in Scotland) marriage certificate in the next week (we are getting married in August). Can anyone tell me what forms they needed to get and how they went about it? Would we both need to be present when registering the marriage? Thanks

Your M10 forms are the ones you need to complete and return along with the fee to the registar's office (it has to be the one in the district you are getting married in). You can download the forms and print them off and if my memory is correct I think they need to be submitted at least a month before your wedding. I completed ours and sent them in along with the required documents via post as I was told that you don't need to attend unless you want to pay the fee in cash. I put a letter in with my forms asking the registrar to call me to take payment by card over the phone and when she called she asked a few questions about the information on the forms. She also said the celebrant would contact me about 4 weeks beforehand to go over the details of the ceremony. Hope this helps.

The m10 forms can be completed from 12 weeks before until 29 days before, think they cost £70 and you both need to submit the forms, the registrar is marrying us and we need to give names and addresses of witnesses too (separate form).
After 7 years and 11 months he proposed to me 18.10.13
Our son is 5 years old and our world
Getting married 15.08.15.
