We are looking at having a marquee for our wedding, we have a venue but aren't sure what size marquee to have. Ideally we would like to just buy the marquee and then resell it after use, we have a maximum of 56 guests, has anyone done this before and if so what sort of size would you recommend? my thoughts are 2 6m x 12m to make a 12m x 12m? would this be big enough? Also we are not really doing a sit down meal as we are hoping to do wood fired pizzas from a mobile caterer. Thanks

Maybe ask your venue and caterers. They will hopefully have some recommendations x

The marquee company should be able to advise you on size. Guess you will want dance floor space too?

The venue is only a friends land so they have no idea unfortunately! and the caterers as they are only a mobile wood fired pizza I'm unsure they will be able to advise on this. Yes we will want a dance floor too.
Thanks

Surely it's the marquee company though who can say how large a marquee you need? If you have 56 guests, thats 6 round tables of 8-10 people per table (think they're normally 6ft rounds as standard) so you need a marquee big enough to hold them plus a dance floor and bar area. Depends how big a dance floor you want.

Ye we haven't contacted any marquee companies yet, thought i would see if anyone had done this before, we have tables all sorted but aren't doing a formal meal, we are thinking of just chairs and a few tables dotted around (rectangle tables) as we don't think we will have 56 guests I don't think we will need a big dance floor. Thank you

I know you are thinking of buying your marque. But you could always use a hire company to get the info you need to then go and buy it yourself

We was just saying this Emily :), although we have found a cheaper marquee option with Capri marquees, the seem pretty reasonable so I have emailed them for a quote which includes marque, lights, chairs, tables and a dance floor, hoping for a nice quote :)
