Hi guys just wanted to share something I've just found. I was gonna make my own invitations but I'm now thinking I can't really be bothered with all the hassle lol (never was very creative) but when I looked online for handmade ones they were always so expensive (£4 or £5 per invite).

Well I've just found a way to design your own and have it assembled and also printed if you so wish - there are many designs to choose from and you can decide embelishments, ribbons, envelope colours etc, I've just tried to assemble one and price it up and it came to £1.77! I'm well impressed! I think I'm gonna go down this route because it's still personal but it takes out all the hassle of cutting, glueing etc!

I must be mad as I quite like all the cutting and glueing, lol, and also it gives me something to do when h2b watches Newcastle play. I have only made 2 so far but I have ages yet, and I felt really proud of myself when I finished them. I paid £17 for all the materials for my invites which is a bargain compared to how much individual invites cost, but the price you found for what you have found is not bad, and at least you get to design them, so have fun, I'm sure you will have to share the link many times, lol. x

I never thought I would like it until I tried and I found it quite therapeutic but that is just me, lol. But seeing that you have just 4 months to go, it would be quite stressy doing them all yourself from scratch! x

Just made a gatefold one in ivory with a pearlised heart and purple ribbon for £1.36 and evening postcard style one in the same colour scheme for £1 each x :)

Ah so they all vary in price, depending on what you choose then? Interesting. I would design one and then remove things to see the cost come down, lol, such a penny pincher I am! :D x

yeah there's like a 5 step process, you choose the design, then the colour of the card, colour of insert, type of embelishment then ribbon colour.
For example, the gatefold and pocket ones are 62p each but butterfly fold and wallet ones are £1 each and the embelishments start from 5p up to 36p etc so you can make it as cheap or expensive as you wish x

h2b designed ours using an image of the spanish steps which he scanned into his computer, he has printed a couple out already and they look lovely, all i have to do is write the names in them, hole punch 2 little holes and then tie a bow...and i will be enlisting the help of the girls to lend a hand.

i've got most stuff for ours already, just been mulling over what sort of insert to have. so i just ordered a sample from the site you've recommended. so fingers crossed they look good and that will save printer ink and time spent on the puter xx

Well change of plan, Dave has just promised to make all of ours, he says I've to chose the design online and he'll make it for a fraction of the cost. He is an architect and very creative but I never thought he'd be into doing this! He's great at things like Halloween costumes (you should've seen his edward scissorhand gloves made from modelling card) and once he made a giant titanic model for his niece's school project and it was amazing!

So we'll see if he can pull it off - don't know if he realises what he's letting himself in for lol!
