My Fiancé and I are planning on going to the wedding ring workshop to make our wedding rings but are unsure if we will be paying over the odds or if our rings will be of a good quality if we do this.
Has anyone been to do the wedding ring workshop before and how did they find the experience plus the cost and their final wedding rings?
We would both get platinum wedding rings and the website states that the average pair of rings comes to 15g but we are also nervous that we would get to the end of the day and they weigh a lot more than that meaning we get stung even more than the estimated prices!
Any advice we can get would be greatly appreciated!

It does seem quite expensive Hun as you pay £150 each plus the cost of the material. I would also be concerned about whether you would be able to finish it properly so that it stays as a ring. That being said it is a lovely idea to make your own, if I was going to do it would probably make his and vice versa!

A friend did this and the rings were beautiful, although I'm not sure where they did it or the cost. And yes, he made hers and she made his :-)

My OH is making our rings... It's going to be a surprise to me on the day as to what they look like! He's just making them himself without going to a workshop.... I have to say I am nervous but being a budget bride and loving the DIYness I am looking forward to it...

My H2B has suggested this too..... he has made me special jewellery in the past but only worked with silver and not gold. We are definately going to look into it though. He says you can buy a wax blank and carve the shape/design you want and then have the rest done professionally but I dont know all the details yet. Quite exciting though....

My SiL's friend did this and her ring is absolutely horrible.. They added a pattern which looks like she scrapped at it with a wire brush for a few hours, the claws holding in the diamonds are far too big and actually cover half the diamonds and also look like she bent them over the diamonds herself :-/ The scary thing is, she's getting her w.ring to match !! xxx
I can't wait to become his Wife :-)
