I've just been having a look at prices of make-up artists and I'm amazed people charge so much. One woman wants £35 every half hour and an extra £20 if your only booking for one person...

What are the prices you girls are paying or willing to pay?

And can anyone recommend a make-up artist in Bristol?

That's what I have been doing but they all seem so expensive.. £35 every half hour for the trial and then £60 on the day just for make up :-/

When I went a wedding fair, this one woman does pamper parties for £10 per person, and you could use that as your trail, Then she was charging £20 for the bridal make up & £18 for mothers and BM. I was expecting it to cost more than that.
Oh, she also charged for travel to which was £5-£15 depending on how far you lived from her.

I had a make up trial with a woman a little while ago, was £20 for the trial but it was awful, she used bright blue eye shadow lol

    This is gonna be tough!

I was lucky as today when I went for a free airbrush trial I got a full trial for free :D but I mite have another one closer to the wedding...but for a trial and makeup on the day it is £70 - I would def recommend airbrushing tho...

My sister in law is doing my hair but I am paying £25 each for bridesmaids on the day and if I did have mine done it would be £70. xxx

I had no idea what to budget for, so had a google and got prices from 150 up to 300 just for bridal! Some were charging 150 just for hair! With make up making it almost double. I came to the conclusion that it was dependent on where you lived (being London based, I reckon that might up the price quite a bit...!) but like the other girls said, it's also about how far they have to travel to you.

MrsMelodyWalker2b...I would pick a mid price range makeup artist....today when I had mine done the lady asked what I usually do if I was going out and colours etc and she kept to that mainly xx

I planned on not going to any more wedding fairs as I pretty much have everything done but I think I may have to go and have a chat with some make up ladies!

I think I might of found someone actually.. £90 for the trial and on the day. Just waiting to find out from my hairdresser when she can do a trial so I can try and get both on the same day so can see what it's like together

I am tempted to do my own make up as I had it done previously and I don't like what they choose for me in eyeshadows, etc. and I know what I like. I have one of my bm who could do it, but I don't feel good when someone touches my face to put make up so I dunno what to do.

I'v bought my own make up. I'v been for makeovers before and they made me look like a doll. I want to look like myself on my wedding day. I have also broke the rules on wedding make-up. I have bought the brands that I know, tried and tested. No fancy stuff, just plain and simple brands that I know last, know suit me and make me feel great. Nothing worse than buying a new foundation and it lasting 2 mins and rubbing off when you are at work, nevermind on your big day.
Barry M do some stunning dazzle dusts in neautral tones that there is a famous chemists out there that ALWAYS have it on offer.
