    heyah!
i live in the north east and i dont really have a clue about any make up artists who are willing to come to your home on the big day. ive never really had to look for them before as i have always done my own lol.
does anyone have any suggestions or are people just doing their own?
    xx

I'm not as far north as you but I popped into a few beauty salons and those in my town centre to get price lists. Some of them offered treatments at your home address. I then went along to one of them that did home treatments at no extra cost. I've been a couple of times to have things like my eyebrows done. I'm not one for wearing makeup normally so each time I've been she's tried out one or two things. Anyway, she's charging me £10 for trial and then £30 for my actual wedding day make up at my house which I didn't think was too bad. x

I had no idea about costs. Wasn't until I went to a wedding event that I saw some beauty places with stalls. I took their leaflets for comparison. Saw they had saolns and wouldn't do a home service. So just got the trusty yellow pages out and had a look who was near me lol I think if I was quoted £150 I'd have just stuck to having a bit of lipstick on and left the rest lol x

Try your local boots john lewis or debenhams make up counters most do a free make up trial and will give you tips of how to do your own which might be cheaper! Some might even come to your home to do it for you on the day if you ask.
I dont normally wear make up so im getting someone to do mine but they are all so blinking expensive.
One qoute I got was £600 for me and 4 teenage bridesmaid plus hair.............i bust out laughing when she told me

also try your local wedding fairs i got loads of cards handed out to me from the 2 i went to and my bridal shop as a facebook page with businesses advertising hair makeup and wedding photographer/vidographers on there all the time so if you have picked your dress you could ask if they have any recommendations i get 10% off the business my bridal shop recommends.

I'm thinking I might be terribly cheeky and go for a trial at boots/debenhams the morning of the wedding then buy the foundation (seeing as I need a decent foundation anyway).
Might get my bridesmaids to do the same hehehe.

Surely they should show you the make up before you leave and if you don't like it change it?

Haha eeee I think I'd die tbh if I went to a make up counter the morning of the wedding and it went wrong.
Yehh I'm gona look in the online search engines lol or even go into my hairdressing salon. Just realise that they actually do makeup too haha!
However if I can't find any good deals I will do it myself. I would be a lot cheaper I just thought that if I could it would be like a pamper session on the morning for me and my maids :)

Yea but if its a trial to show you what looks good on you and it doesn't then they havn't done their job and need to make it look good.

Yeh maybe, but I'd have them changing it all the time haa! Can you have a trial say a month or so before and then go in and get another trial. Thing is I thought they wernt allowed to show you what makeup they put on you unless you buy it so if you went for a second trial how would you know it was the same
    Stuff??

i did wonder why the make up lady was rubbing so hard on my brows

ive booked a make up artist costing £30 trial and 45 on the day, i googled her and checked her gallery and facebook page there were lots of people saying ty for the amazing make up and it stayed on all day etc and the pics were awesome! i went with someone local so there were no travel expensives she seems quite popular as shes taking bookings for 2014, fingers crossed the trial goes well next year or i'll be doing my own make up i think x
