The quotes I got varied wildly from £500 to £1500! I got in touch with a few of them, and went for a trial with the person that I felt I got on well with over email. She was lovely in person and I've booked her.

As a Pro make-up artist I agree prices do vary hugely however if someone is a geuine pro make-up artist who is insured they will be charging aorund £80 for the bride and £45 for BM's MOB that is the average cost in my area and is what I charge. I do howeer do packages that bring the costs down.

Just remember that if you book a make-up artist if you want to pay peanuts expect a monkey to apply your make-up :o)

Joking aside a genuine Pro Make-up artist that does make-up for a living will charge you more than someone who does it as a hobby and there are lots of those. This is my full time job I pay tax and am insured to apply make-up to people.

Shop around there are plenty around and loads advertise on this site.

I did think of doing my own make up but OH thinks its worth the money to be pampered.

Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)
