I would defo ring round your local beauty salons hun, they tend to be a lot cheaper than a make up artist. Also go into your local department store and go to the makeup counters to see if any of the girls that work on them do it on the side - they usually do, and really know what they are doing xxx

Check your contract with the artist that just cancelled. They may be responsible for covering the difference.

Could your makeup artist not ask her to discount her prices as a professional courtesy? It's worth a try to just ask. xx
