As the category suggests, I am about to have a major rant!
So, I had my hair and makeup trial this week, and it was a disaster. The lady didnt listen to anything I wanted and I dont think it could have been any simpler. I took a photo for the hair I wanted (straight with a slight wave) and asked for natural makeup. Firstly, she put tight curls in my hair, and when I said I didnt want curls, she brushed them out to create a major frizz. The "natural" makeup was a bit of a joke as well. The lady said she doesnt use eyeliner, which is fine by me, but instead used black eyeshadow and it looked like I had 2 black eyes. Im not sure how that could be considered natural.
Anyway, I now have less than a month to find a new hair and makeup person for my wedding. Im not entirely sure what I am going to do. :-(

I wouldnt want anyone I know to do it as I wouldnt want to put that pressure on someone I love.
I think it has made me really nervous. When I told this first lady that I just wanted to look like me but better - she replied with I cant work miracles.
Im not sure I want to go through all of that again, but at the same time I want to look good on my wedding day.

what time is your wedding hun? Anyu chance you can book in with a make up counter at your local B00ts or John L's? Have a free consult & make over? Maybe ask around at local hairdresses for a junior maybe that will do it cash in hand? Or book into local haidresser time allowing?

I've put a link on your wall to a website where I got my hair stylist from, give them a ring and see if they have anyone available? I had my hair trial and I went in a nervous wreck and came out sooo excited! The hair stylist listened to what I wanted and then tried a couple of different styles and when I then picked one she took loads of photo's to make sure she would get it right on the day.

she sounds hopeless hun and with kind of attitude she isn't worth bothering with, get rid of her and just ring any make up artist you can find, also get into any wedding fairs as they always have hair and make up people in who can help or point you in the right direction, does you venue have hair and make up on site? ours has one in the spa

Why do these people find it so hard to understand what u want, i know its there job and they prob think they no best but if u want something they should be able to do it?!

I feel ya pain........i had to tell my regular hairdresser that i didnt want her to do my hair 2 days before the wedding! she was useless too!.lol....i had a trial with another lady, she done it well, then wanted to charge me £150!....and she's not even a hairdresser!...........taking the pi......springs to mind, so you know what?.........I done it myself!.......i thought well its my head, my hair and i know how i want to look, Is there any way you can set aside some time and have a go with a style you feel comfortable doing yourself, it really helped my nerves during the morning aswell as i was concentrating on my hair and make up! xxxxx

What a horrible person, you don't say things like that to clients. I would definetly find someone else, they are not all like that. Ask around friends of they know of beauty therapists who do occasion make up.
You will get it sorted.
