Why not have them both with equal roles?

I made my Aunty my wedding planner but she really wants to be my Maid of Honour. Would it be silly having them both? Or would it be better making her my bridesmaid?..

Do you have to have a maid of honour?
I have three bridesmaids, but none of them are my maid of honour.... one of them sort of has stepped up a lot more, but I wouldn't want to be rude to the other two by making her my maid of honour (when I asked them I only had two so it didn't seem right having one as a bridesmaid and one as a maid of honour) but you don't need to have a maid of honour.
So either have neither, or ask them both... it's your wedding you can do whatever you like.

No l don't but l feel l want one.. Is it normal to have your nan as Maid of Honour or not?
It's not about what's normal, it's your day so choose who ever you wish to take on the role, why not ask your Nan first to see if she will be okay with that role and won't be to stressful for her xx
Tomorrow is never promised to anyone, So Dance until your
feet ache, Laugh until your side hurts,
Say I Love You to those you love
For tomorrow may never come x

Don't worry about what's 'normal' and the done thing.. It's your day, you have what you want! There's absolutely nothing wrong with having 2 MOH's, whoever they are :) I am having 4 equal bridesmaids and no MOH as could not choose between them.. So in effect I guess I have 4 MOH's! X

I had two matrons of honour, and it worked fine, as they were a good team. Are they married? If they are then they wouldn't normally be called bridesmaid or maid of honour, but matron of honour. Maid of honour is more of an American term, and would normally be chief bridesmaid over here. A bridesmaid, chief bridesmaid or maid of honour would normally refer to someone who is unmarried. Also, if your nan and aunty are older then matron of honour might sit better. I did have another married bridesmaid but as she was 19 I decided to stick with bridesmaid for her, as matron just didn't sound right for someone so young.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.
