I've spent the last month completely solidly revising for exams, and have had wedding planning on hold for at least 2months whilst getting exam prepped. Then I had the exam yesterday and they were awful, I know I'll have to retake at least one. Which because of holiday availability means I'll have to do it and revise when I was meant to go on honeymoon. Between that and having put everything on hold and now realising I how much I have to do and how little time I have with work etc. And I feel awful about having to ruin the honeymoon, its so unfair to be ruining it for my OH too. Now I've lost all my excitement and happiness. It all feels like a really big mountainous hill to climb. Has anyone experienced this kind of slump? I want to get back to my happy excited place, no feeling like its all a chore.

I've not had that experience but I'm sure your OH will be more than understanding and also there can always be another holiday for your honeymoon. I just wanted to comment as I know how hard it is to study and arrange things although this experience hasn't occurred yet. Didn't want to read and pass and you to think no-one was acknowledging you dilemma. Hope you find a way!! x

Is there a possibility of delaying the resit? Or is it too late to delay the honeymoon?

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

I'm hoping I might be able to get some extra time after the resit. Just a couple of days or so. And have a shorter honeymoon if OH can rearrange his time off too. I'm just trying to find my happy place about everything again. Even without the honeymoon it's all seeming like too much.

Well, both husband an i are in the military... i've been put on short notice to move throughout the weddign and honeymmon period and he's due to deploy less than a week after our honeymoon now. we would have gone for 2 weeks but now can only go for one... so everything seems to focus around work and not the wedding...so i kinda get what you feel like... i too have an exam looming too :(

ValentinaK that really sucks. I hope you get some time together and a chance to enjoy the wedding and being married before you both get deployed again. I don't know how you military personnel manage to do it, it's amazing to me. I couldn't do it. You all deserve to be able to have time off for things like this more than the rest of us since you really do have it a lot harder. I hope your day is everything you want x

    Hiya,

My sister in law had the same issue, they ended up getting married in between her exams (in Januray) but decided to go on a 'mini moon' in this country straight after the wedding. Her next lot of exams are this month then they are going on a 3 week honeymoon around America.
If you can move the honeymoon without losing a lot of money, to after your exams then this will hopefully give you the focus you need to redo them. I'm sure your H2B will understand how important it is to you, so I wouldnt worry about "ruining it for him"..you have the rest of your lives to have fantastic holidays together...when your qualified...for whatever it is!

Good luck with it all :) xxx

    That's a shame :-(

I agree, could you rearrange the honeymoon and maybe just have a mini moon after the wedding?

If you're trying to combine honeymooning with revision, I suspect that you won't manage to revise particularly successfully or have a particularly successful honeymoon...it would be much better to do them both, but separately.

Having said that, with two months to go for the wedding, and assuming your exams need to be sat in around two months time, I do think you are putting an awful lot of pressure on yourself and would be maybe looking at taking the resit later - the last month before my wedding was a write off, in terms of spare time, no way could I have prepared for exams! I was fairly well organised, but the amount of running around was unbeleivable. I had difficulty focusing at work - fortunately I had arranged my workload so as to have a relatively easy month however my mind was frequently on wedding matters and I wouldn't have liked to be in the midst of technical work.

    Xx
