I just don't seem to be motivated when it comes to planning the wedding. I'm usually excited when talking about the wedding, looking in magazines,in shops, on websites etc and now I just.....well haven't bothered. Maybe it's because my wedding is ages away...I don't know. xx

Maybe you just need a break from the planning? I didn't get that interested until a year to go. I looked at venues and booked one but thats it.

have a break from it, i imagine it must be quite strange if you have a long time to go, as there is all the hype straight away after you get engaged and then if you dont have a rush to plan things then what do you do???maybe you are like me, i am getting married soon after getting engaged coz if i didnt i just wouldnt do anything-i need that sense of urgency to be able to get really excited!!! there is no rule that says you have to spend all the time between E day and W day planning and getting excited, so why not have a break for a couple of months and dont really think about it??closer to the time you will become really motivated so enjoy the relaxation while you can!!!

I kow how you feel ......i will be ok once i can do stuff.......wether H2b likes it or not !!!
the date for mine is not set yet, as waiting for the church, but we are hoping for september 2011, but i have been looking through things, have tried my dress on, just got to save up for it now, have picked pretty much everything that we want, but until we can get a date sorted and a venue booked, i cannot actually buy anything yet, so i am getting a bit edgey but it will all come out in the wash. you will get motivated and start planning things, as it takes ages to sort everything out. start of with a theme or colour scheme and go from there. x

Yeah I've got a bit unmotivated too. And one of my friends is getting married in two weeks and another next year and they are both trying to help me out with ideas for my wedding and stuff having no idea that actually it's pretty much planned, just needs some finishing detail and decisions to be made but that I've created a plan to spread these things out. My plan starts in June lol so hopefully I'll start to feel a bit more moticated then. Think the initial rush of excitement is over and I'm so methodical and organised that the thrill's gone a bit for a while. But the wedding's miiiiiles away so plenty of time to get excited again. And Niks in 18months time you and I will still be on here giving advice to all the newbies and smiling smugly as everything is sorted and organised as they start to panic x

Im with carly on this. I got engaged, set an approx date 2 weeks later and then picked and booked the venue a few weeks after that, so had 11 months in total from then till the wedding. Also had to move house and have xmas in between lol
