I hadn't set a date yet because I was waiting for certain people to find out when they could possibly make it (important people i.e. immediate family!)
All is not lost as currently the plan is to have the wedding in Australia, where all my family are then a party/celebration here afterwards. (Also means we don't miss out on the olympics :D)
I'm getting more excited about it now, but freaking out a little having to do everything from another country... it's not like a package wedding abroad- I'd probably end up booking everything individually relying on friends and family to go see venues/speak to vendors and such. And my wedding dress! I'd have to lug it all the way there!

Make sure that you can get some wedding insurance to cover you. It may be that you have to take out a policy from their so check that it still applies to you if you are not resident there etc.
Sounds like an amazing idea. If your friends etc send you photos etc and can email you everything over then it shouldn't be a problem. Hope all goes well.

Totally agree Jo- definitely going to look into the insurance before I do anything!
And looks like a couple of my bridesmaids will have more responsibility than they find thought!!
