I found a lovely dress on ebay for £20, havig 3 bridesmaid all different sizes and height. They tried them on and one looks lovely and touches the floor, another one is about 2 inches from the floor and the other is about 6 inches from the floor. I've now found the same dress but a shorter version as I think the long one will look silly as one of them you won't see their shoes but the others you will. But I feel like the short ones don't look like a bridesmaid dress, just a casual dress and will be like 3 people turn up wearing the same and not stand out. Anyone else had short dresses?

Haven't got my bridesmaids to try any dresses on yet but I have one who is quite short then another who wouldn't wear a short dress so may have to have them in different lengths. I think short dresses are more popular now, don't foget they will all match and have bouquets and hair accessories so should still stand out :) hope this helps xx

Yeah short dresses can still look lovely as bridesmaid dresses... if you think those dresses in particular are too short you could always buy the long one's and have them taken up so they're still a shorter style but not as short as the shorter option if you bought it ready made?

My maids tried on long and short and the long looked a lot better and more elegant on my girls. I think having short dresses is fine though, seamstresses can work wonders :)

I feel like I'm sorting them too early but I want to be organised, 2 of them want to loose weight and have a goal to work towards and another 1 is currently pregnant and the dress fits her lovely but she's now taking about having a breast reduction so the current dress won't fit her! It's the length I'm more worried about as my sister who's MOH is the tallest and I think it just looks silly in the length. they are all coming round tomorrow night so I'll have to annoy them and get them to try them on again take pictures of it long and get one of them to hold it up to see what it will look like short

I like short dresses but do think those ones are a little too short. I've been looking at those long dresses myself what's the quality like? Would you mind posting a pic of it in person?

I do like them both, I think if the shorter ones were to the knees it would be better, however saying that, if they have a body like the model they will get away with the shorter ones,

My bridesmaids tried in both, however I always said I wanted long dresses as they look more elegant and also helps distinguish bridesmaids from other guests. The shortest length I'd consider would be calf length otherwise they can just look like a party dress and depending on style can look a bit tarty

I've always known Ive wanted long bridesmaids dresses as well. There isn't anything wrong with having shorter dresses but would be careful.. Would have to be knee length or just below.

Short dresses look fine and you will definitely be able to tell they are the bridesmaids with their accessories

DanielleS0709 sorry I don't have a picture of my my bridesmaid wearing it as ones pregnant and doesn't look right and the other 2 don't fit but they are very good quality and can't complain for £20 each, a seller on ebay is doing 20% off ending 26th feb if you buy 2 or more dresses. Thank you for all your opinions, all 3 girls are happy to wear a shorter one and think I'll add diamontes under the bust and with their flowers and hair the same I'm sure people will know they are bridesmaids. I'm gutted the long ones don't look right thou

I prefer long dresses and for the BM that won't see her shoes, have you thought about just having the hem taken up by a seamstress?

I've decided to get the short one but still can't see what they look like on as one is pregnant and other 2 don't fit in their dresses. I'm selling the long one if anyone's interested?

How pregnant will your BM be? If she'll be quite far along the length of the dress will probably change and her bump might ride the dress up I imagine?

She's pregnant at the moment and due in May. I'm not getting married til next year but as she's the only one that fits into her dress I still can't see what they look like as her bump changes the dress

Im having four bridesmaids, ages are 26,25,14 and 9 so im going to have to get different size dresses. The oldest bridesmaid is really tall so i have to get floor length dresses coz if i just get long dresses it will look to short on her but the problem is the floor length will be too long on my other bridesmaid.
This is the thing thats stressing me out the most.
What would everyone else do? x
