Ok, so I clicked on one of the adverts on my wall earlier today as we've still not booked our DJ for our London reception. I've got a quote (with a 20% UKB discount) for £245 for 5.5 hrs of disco (we're thinking that we wouldn't need the disco til an hour later, which would knock off a further £30) and includes lighting effects.
The name of the company is on my wall. Has anyone used them before or know of them? If so, can you let me know what you thought of them?
Do you think this is a good price? I have no idea!
    Thanks Hx

Ok, so how about booking a disco without recommendations - how do people feel about that? I've looked at their website and they have some good testimonials, but then they're not likely to put bad reviews up on their own website, are they?! Help, please!

OK, fair enough! It's difficult as you kinda see these adverts and a lot of the time take no ntice, but you hear the name and you can't place where you've heard it!

Anotehr twist in the tale - a friend of mine has recommended his friend who is available on our date. He charges £345 (inc VAT), so a bit more expensive, but he also includes 2 meetings at the venue prior to the wedding to ensure that our needs are met.
    What to do????!

Personally I'd want to go with someone I've seen, or with personal recommendations; I also want to meet with DJs we're considering beforehand to discuss our requirements, I'm seriously picky about music, plus I don't want someone who talks over everything. I'd probably go with the friend as while more expensive, at least they've been recommended and will meet with you before; and perhaps he could come down if it's for a friend of a friend, or could meet you once instead of twice and shave some money off?

Yeah, a lot of our quotes have been in the £500plus region, so I'm not so worried about the £100 extra - just have to make sure the H2B is ok with it. I did put in £550 for the entertainment, so I guess any saving would be ok!
