Just had to share, I bought my dress today! And tiara and veil! Went to Copplestones in city centre, tried about 12 on and bought a fab Trudy Lee one! At a bargainous price! Yay!

Wasn't much fun carrying it across town to car park though. Weighs a ton!

It's definitely worth the trip. Loads of dresses -some better than others but some gorgeous stuff and some real bargains. All new. The lady left us to get on with it and went upstairs which was great, no pressure! But she was very helpful when we approached her. X

Yay for you! I was going to try there too but found mine too soon and put my money down before I knew it! Went in today to ask about getting the back changed to a lace up in case I can't lose the 3 inches around my waist and the zip doesn't go up, and the lady said oh don't worry, just get some Spanx and you'll go in a size no problem! At least it takes the pressure off boot camp now eh!

I wanted to try there first as I'm not too fussed about the dress so didn't want to spend too much. If there'd been nothing there i'd have had a rethink but luckily got a perfect dress pretty cheap!

Need the bust altering a bit, it's a little bit big and i'd rather not wear a strapless bra? Luckily the waist is fine so I don't need to worry about dieting, just need to keep to the weight I am now. Or, more likely get back down to the weight I am now nearer the time! Good old Spanx. Least we can enjoy Christmas!

Oooh and now I can look for shoes!

We're meeting with 4 next weekend, X Factor style auditions/meet and greet haha! Met a nice guy based at the Wedding House last week, called Herve (pronounced Her-vay) - his photos are really nice and he seems really helpful, but I just worry as I think our wedding is too big for him - when I said there'd be 150-160 day guests he said he might need a second photographer to help him out with the reportage shots! But if you're having a wedding party of 100 or less I'd definitely give him a call!

The ones I'm seeing next week are studiofivefour (found on here with 2 for 1 on parents albums), RAW photography (recommended by the venue), Jeff Langhorne (did 2 friends' weddings and they love him!) and another guy recommended by someone I used to work with (foto.graphy) - will let you know how I get on! Have emailed all of them and they all seem really nice and approachable so I think we should definitely be able to decide on one after we've met them all and seen their display albums etc :-)

We got our wedding rings on Saturday in town. Such a fab jewellers. W**gs on Whitechapel.

They cleaned my e-ring for free while we waited and will do all three rings free for life in store while we wait. If you ever need jewellery now or the future i'd totally recommend! And the price was less than I was expecting.

They said they'd engrave for free and h2b scoffed! Then he actuallly said to the lady 'Makes it harder to sell then though'. Her response 'It's ok, it can be filed off'!!!!
I'm thinking about it though. The date might be nice.

Ooo will have to go have a look there. Are they fairly reasonable price wise?

I have seen one I like in WJ, where my e-ring is from. But H2B isnt interested in rings at the moment, wants to leave it till nearer the time which is fair enough.

I think it's depends on budget as they make to order really. I wanted a 2mm platinum flat band to match my e-ring. which came to about £450 and H2b got a palladium 5mm curved band for £350. Different shapes, metals, widths affect the price. We also got 10% off as my e-ring was from there.

Their prices were about the same as EJ or BB or HS (Hope that coding is obvious) but I like the fact they clean instore for free rather than sending things away. Which made it a better deal long term I thought.

H2b wasn't interested in rings and didn't want to pay a lot, but I convinced him we'll wear them forever so worth the extra. They do credit options too, which is useful!

Ok, met with the photographers this weekend and we have decided on one, he's called Jose Carduso and his company is fotografy based in Port Sunlight - really natural looking photos and with a digital album with 40 pages and all images both hi and low res on disc, a web gallery, plus all day shooting from prep to evening (10pm) and an engagement shoot a month before with all hi res images on disc, it's all in for 1600 - you can get a photobook from him which is with thinner pages like a storybook for cheaper, or even just disc only - we said we're expecting 160 during the day, so he said he'd bring along a second photographer - for free!!

Other photographers we met were really nice, but once you added up all the separates the one we chose we got best value from and we really liked his photos - if you don't want the hi res disc of images though you'll find it cheaper as some photographers were charging 250-350 for this alone! But we want to send photos to overseas family etc and also have an option to print more later when we eventually move house etc.
Worst one we met though was Jeff Langhorne, he seemed a nice guy but we thought he was far too chilled out and laid back - however, he was more than happy to negotiate on priced and gave us quite a discount on his packages - we thought however that he wouldn't be able to assert himself with our large crowd but at a smaller wedding of less than 100 say i think he'd be fine :-)

Met up with a friend yesterday and he covered their wedding in 2008, and when I said his name she said 'oh no, not Jeff the meff!' - they didn't get their album from him until a year after the wedding, and he took loads of pics of the groom's family but hardly any of the bride's, and apparently forgot to edit out loads of stuff - he took a photo of the bride and groom standing next to a disabled sign, and forgot to edit the sign out - but her husband suffers from dwarfism so was really hacked off! And as it took so long to get their photos from him they couldn't be bothered to contact him to make the corrections either - however, he also did another friend's wedding in 2007 and she raves about him - so I suppose he has good and bad days etc. Still, I'd definitely recommend meeting your photographers to see what they're like in person - tbh within 10 mins of meeting him (his meeting was 1.5 hours!) my H2B admitted he'd switched off completely and was listening to music in his head, leaving me to chat to him!

So pleased with our chosen photographer, we both felt great vibes within moments of meeting him, and after having met a few photographers that day, it really made a difference! Plus he's Portuguese and wore a neck scarf so that kind of sold it to me too lol!!

Liverpool ladies might like this. H2b and I are in South Wales for Christmas and have been visiting family that h2b hasn't met many times due to the distance. Haha my H2B is from SW Wales and when I first met them they commented on how friendly the accent was, told them I'd met Cilla as I was on Blind Date when I was 23 and they were amazed - then again there was I thinking I was in a Gavin and Stacey episode with the Welsh tones - guess it happens to all of us! And they don't lock their front doors, friends pop round to say hello and just walk into the house - I'm always saying you should lock the door and hide all valuables on sight in the car when you park it!! LOL!
