I chose mine! Cocktail making was great fun. Got everyone involved and it wasn't embarrassing at all. Really fun. We didn't go for the food though as we went for a meal beforehand.
My dad has made mine so I have no idea what they should cost I'm afraid. The only cake shops I'm aware of are Terry Tang's in Wavertree and the one by the shops outside Central Station in town.

My MIL has told me about Marks and sparks cakes, apparently you can get them there for half the price.
Or you can just buy the sponges from them then get someone to decorate for you, if you know anyone who's any good? xx

We had a lady help my mum with the sugar craft training, but she does cakes professionally too - her name's Kay but her company is called Shuga Kayx - tell her you know Becky Low and she might give you a discount! My mum's famous now! :-)

WE DID IT!!
Absolutely PERFECT day - as cheesy as it sounds, definitely the happiest day of my life - everything was just lovely. Weather was brilliant, just a few minutes of rain and it was nice and warm for the drinks and canapes....food was wonderful, drinks were flowing, band was awesome and everyone had a fabulous time. I've uploaded a few pics into my album for everyone to see - will add more when I can!! xxx

One thing I'd recommend is a few days before, doing something totally un-wedding related - the Thursday before ours (wed on Sunday) I ended up taking some visiting relatives to the Trafford Centre, where we just hung out, had lunch, wandered about, then came home to a meal my mum had put together - felt so fun! I only bought chocolate from Hotel Chocolat but it seemed so stress free! Then the next day it was all on, got my nails done, got the food in for the after party, met up with his family who'd just arrived, was so busy I'd hardly eaten all day then got accidentally hammered whilst showing them the delights of the Cavern! Oops!
Am super excited about getting the dress on again, tried it on again 2 weeks ago when I took it to the lady for the alterations, was fabulous getting it on again! She also noticed that the bust needed a couple of darts in it, she's going to do that for me so technically, it'll fit me better in the photos than it did on the wedding day! Just need to get toned up to make the tan look better!!

The ones on honeymoon they'll edit and put on disc for us, and the ones the week we get back with the wedding photographer, he's going to edit, give to us on disc (high and low res) and also put some in the official wedding album so it's a complete wedding set :-)

I'll have to try for a free day on the Monday. Though we have a Christening on the Sunday so will be out late for that I'd imagine with it being on Aug bank hol! I have my parents up Tues onwards so they'll be v hands on and demanding.....!

We got back from our honeymoon last night and just slobbing around doing washing etc today...boring! We had a great time but it was difficult staying with friends as it didn't feel like a honeymoon at all...just an ordinary holiday, especially as we'd been there 4 times before so it wasn't even special. We're going to try and get away for a belated honeymoon in May but we'll see.

Argh sort of! It's weird, I am excited but just really anxious. Think the anxiety is overruling the excitement! It's like I can't see past next week to the wedding day at all. All I can think of are the jobs that need doing and the packing etc. Making me a bit stressy :-( Will be better when my parents are up and I can start getting a few bits done.
My last day in work today and been spoilt :-)

I know - count yourself lucky that the stress of getting things done is on you now, and not the day before like it was us - and we went out on the unintentional bender the night before the day before, remember! Tidying up sweet trees whilst feeling like death was not a good moment, I even had to take over cutting the cards for our table plan as my lovely hubby couldn't cut straight with the scisssors - we had to get all our bits to the palm house for 2pm, and I wasn't sure I should drive (!!) so thankfully my cousin came over to help out
