Ooh it's getting so close! I can't believe we're heading into September. One excellent piece of advice given to me in the week leading to the wedding was "if it's not perfect on the day, you'll be too swept up with the whole 'getting married' thing to even notice, so do not stress about it!" So there you go... although I know syaing it on the other side is so easy ha sorry.

Just make sure to stop throughout the day and take it all in...I did and I have some excellent images in my head of those moments. It will go quickly but savour every minute, dont stress on the day (let someone else do it) - I wasn't even bothered when a glass of red wine was split all down the back of my dress then a pint of lager all down the front...although I did have an excellently organised (and slightly neurotic) friend with my dad's handkerchief and a bottle of sparkling water and it came out without even the slightest mark.

Weather looks good for Saturday too so woohoo!!! :-)

Ah I'm so jealous of you heehee. Really do enjoy the build up hun and take the time to relax. I can't believe how quickly this month has flown over...desperate for our professional piccies now as I want to get started on photobooks (ideal christmas present for my nan lol). Hello everyone - I am getting married in Liverpool but do not live there currently - just wondered if anyone had been to a wedding or a function at the Athenaeum? It my venue and just being nosy really but would like some reports : )

Its near Blue Coat Centre above a jewelrey shop (in Church alley opposite Primarni). Its a sort of private club, its lovely inside just have not met many people who have heard of it let alone been to a do. I am a bit worried but think I am looking for things to worry about...

Sirjen - your wedding looks lovely - congratulations : ) I dont think theres any harm calling and asking when you can expect them. You might get some as a sneak preview...

Thanks for other advice as well there were lovely when we booked and since but have read a bad review online (tbh the reviewer sounds a bit off her nut) so looking for reassurance.

Thanks everyone! I hope the weather stays nice. As long as it's dry i'll be happy. Had such a busy day! Took dress in for pressing, dentist, collected suits, got e-ring cleaned, made table plan, made confetti cones, my dad has marzipanned the cakes! Icing tomorrow! I am exhausted!

Hello - thanks to all who have said not to worry. My OH is from Liverpool (Old Swan). We are getting married in Liverpool so his younger brother and grandparents are able to make it (health issues mean they would not be able to travel far). We are getting married at Unitarian Church on Ullet Road then onto Athenaeum.

Totally agree, in fact I had the local Bristol radio on yesterday and they were talking about the decline of the Bristol nightlife scene, saying 10-15 years ago it was good (when I was here for uni) and the DJ said, and I quote, 'it's just nowhere near as entertaining and fun as the North, particularly Liverpool and Manchester' - made me miss home sooo much!! Good news though is I've convinced Andy it's a great place to bring up a family, so fingers crossed if we're expecting next year we're coming back!!

Yay! I have only lived here 5 years after meeting a scouser at uni and moving here. But it's deffo my home. I love it!

I just collected my dress and dropped almost all our stuff off at the venue :-) such a relief to get it out the house! Not excited yet, but prob will be tomorrow night!

Planning is at a halt at the moment because Ive done most things (which is good!), spoke to the chef and arranged food (drooled at most of it), need to start making my invites now which I reckon will keep me busy!

Ive got to sort BM dresses but we're waiting till after xmas for them as 1 is pregnant so theyre getting sale dresses (due 2 weeks before the wedding). Mens suits are coming from Next as I can put it on my directory card and they're getting them when the groom decides to return from sea xx
