    Hi everyone, I'm new on here and hoping you lovely lot can help me. My wedding is on 20/07/13 in Hertford and we want a good band at our evening reception. Everyone we have contacted so far is so expensive, we were hoping to spend about £500 - £600 but most quotes have come in at over £1000. Do we just have to face facts that that is the going rate and pay it or is there some secret out there to hiring a band. We want a band that can play a bit of everything and keep everyone dancing all nite!!! I really don't want a DJ (no offence to any DJ out there) Can anyone help me? :) K x

    we used a search engine where you can type in budget and type of entertainment called function central, but there's lots out there - failing that, ask around to see if friends have any contacts etc, a friend of mine asked a local band after he saw them in a pub!
