Just had final invoice from our venue and there is a linen hire charge of £82. Basically £1 per person (32 day guests and 50 evening guests - some of who are also day guests!) Bit peeved really. Fair enough to be charged £1 per person for the day guests as it is a formal layout and we are using their tableclothes (just white), but I'm supplying the table runners and the napkins...... and I was expecting to be charged £32 for that. However.... £50 for linen charge for the evening??? Bit off I reckon. People will be picking at the buffet and walking about and standing at the bar and stuff, not formally sitting down and surely the tables will still have the table cloths on from the earlier buffet anyway? Daytime buffet is 5pm, evening buffet is pm. I know its only £50 and to be honest I cant be bothered to argue with them over it, just a bit miffed that they make this charge, especially as its on top of the room hire. So ladies.... my message this morning is...... BEWARE HIDDEN COSTS!!!!! (And maybe I should suggest I do the laundry for them... I'm sure it wont cost me £82 to wash a few table cloths!!!!!)

Just another expense I hadnt bargained for. Oh well. Got my last purchase yesterday, my groom socks for H2B, embroidered with his name and wedding date on, very pleased with them. Doesnt make up for the linen though!
