My partner and I are huge bookworms so I want to incorporate that into our big day. I was hoping to find a venue that is either a library or has a library where the reception can be held (e.g. a stately home), preferably in the Somerset region.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

you could have book centre pieces, you would need to contact the council and find out which library has a marriage license

I think that's a brilliant idea for something u both love, u could name the tables after characters in a favourite book,or after favourite authors? U could buy a large book and in the middle set out ur table plan and put it on a stand xx

No idea about the Sommerset region but i looked at a place called Lillishall in Shropshire where you had the ceremony in the old library - i thought it was ideal for my h2b as he is also a book worm- the rest of the venue wasn't right for us though. x
oooh that sounds like a lovely idea. again think stacked books as centrepieces or inserts from your favourite novels would be a lovely idea. and table names as your favourite books. could even have your wedding cake in some sort of book formation!! ooh the ideas could be endless.. im now thinking alice in wonderland meets vintage... hmmm. Im afraid i cant help you with somerset but think the idea is fab :)
Good luck! x

Dunster castle has a library...
I think it's unlikely that many council libraries will have a marriage licence, so best bet is to go to stately homes and hotels...we are getting married in a library at a hotel in york xx

I live in Somerset, so will try to keep my eyes and ears open for you :)) As has been suggested, Dunster Castle perhaps? I'm literally down the road from there and know it's a beautiful building. National Trust owned these days so no idea if they have a marriage license but will check as a friend works there.
