I may be being silly but last night I was at a cabaret night at our venue and one waitress in my opinion had on inappropriate clothing. Her skirt seriously came just below her bum. It honestly was like a belt and I seriously thought it wasn't right for a restaurant or function.
We're paying alot of money out and I would like things to be perfect, I know on your Wedding Day you are very caught up on things but I would notice that.

i would def tell the hotel...ask to speak to the manager.they must have a uniform code xx
CommentAuthorXLittleMissMe!X
I would also tell them as I wouldn't want the standards of my wedding lowered by a trashy waitress. There is a time and a place to be dressed like that and your wedding is not the time or the place.
CommentAuthorekielty(now Trow)
I wouldnt take the risk of hoping for the best. I would definitely say something to the manager! x

Definitely say something, it's a wedding not a fashion show. Besides who wants to see someone with their arse hanging out whilst serving drinks?!
Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)

Well I have done it and I was told the girl in question is a part time weekend girl - so they are a bit more relaxed with them. My reply was you have 12 other girls working last night too and not one of them looked like that. If they can dress in a professional manner why can't she? One girl was what I call a rockabillie - amazing hair and bright red lipstick - to me she showed her personality and individuality but in a proper manner. This apparently isn't the 1st comment they have had and certainly not the 1st one they have had since last night and they are going to look into it and see to it

Thats exactly what I think - to me she is the face of the business and I didnt want to see those chubby cheeks glaring at me!

wen booking our venue, we asked them what the waitresses and waitors wear and they showed us and said we could add a tie if we wanted, so they are flexible, just mention it to them they'll be fine!! :)
CommentAuthorEmsy5000
I would complain I want my waitresses to look professional what they wear when they are not handling my food is up to them but until they are in their own free time they should be decent!

I'm sorry but part time weekends can get away with murder? What a load of crock. They either have a dress code or they don't. Why should they be allowed to get away with it just because they are part time? Also if she works the weekends doesn't that mean that they will be there for the wedding?
CommentAuthorJill
Good for you... that's the last thing you want to see at what you want to be seen as a classy event! I used to work at my venue years ago but I know they're very particular about the look of staff so not one of my concerns but would be if we were booked anywhere else!

I would so tell!! Unfortunately we had a bit of a bad experience when we went to our venue for dinner, we emailed them and they appologised and also dealt with the issue. It's made us feel so much better about the venue.
CommentAuthorBrissy_Bride
Perhaps for a cabaret night it is much more relaxed- I wouldn't be too offended tbh. But in light of this- definitely tell them what dress code you want for your event!

CommentAuthorFreyFreyMrs.Carney2B
It may just have been because of the cabernet night but check with the venue about their dress code - after all people should be looking at you... not at the bottoms of certain members of staff :)

CommentAuthorekielty(now Trow)
Well done for speaking out hun! regardless of whether she is a full time member of staff, weekend staff or whatever, she shouldnt dress like a hooker! Its your wedding and i dont see a problem with you asking for the staff to dress appropriately! xxxxx

I used to work part time in a hotel and I'd never go to work in a skirt that was above my knees it is not the done thing, and now i manage staff I expect the same from them on the weekends as any other day...... i dont work on a sunday but often pop into work and have diciplined staff for breaking the rules (cat's away mouse will play........lol)....... sadly she is not leting down her self the venue is leting down it's self for not enforceing their dress code
and now the next chapter
CommentAuthorMel D
Definitely tell them - you're paying for a service, and I would expect my waitresses to either wear trousers, or skitrts which are to the knee. I would never dream of wearing anything shorter at work.

Lil Miss Sunshine - I worked in hotels for over 8 years and I never wore a short skirt - i would have been fired lol. I think its bang out of line though when complaints are made and not upheld

you need to make it clear that this is inappropriate for the wedding. i wouldnt just hope for the best.... demand a longer skirt so that her attire is more suitable
