We only have a very small budget for our wedding so i don't see how we could possibly afford a honeymoon. But h2b wants us to have one and he wants us to have a relaxing beach one, but they're so expensive. What do you all think of getting a last-minute deal for our honeymoon? Would this be a good idea, and has anybody else done this/considering this? I know our wedding's a long time away, but i'm trying to figure out what we need to do and budget for lol xx

if you find a good bargain then it shouldnt be a problem, after all last-minute holidays are all ok if theyre booked through a proper company so a honeymoon should be the same in principle :) xxx

As long as you don't have a specific holiday in mind a last minute one would be fine. We are having a short break straight after the wedding, then plan on booking a last minute honeymoon once we've saved a bit of money up. xx

Have you tried the voucher discount sites, they seem to do a lot of offers on for quite last minute deals, as long as you're not choosy about where you go, we've had a couple of UK breaks from them but they do abroad too. Will post links to your wall for my favourite sites!

Thanks for the links emma! I didn't even think of using voucher sites lol We'd like one as soon after the wedding as possible but that might be too much stress lol i don't know x

my mum always gets last minute deals, she books it sometimes just a few days before. The last one she took was new year and she done it on the phone which i wouldnt reccomend as they made her agree to all these extras after taking her card details and wouldnt refund her :( but go in store their brill xx

I don't see why not. I have been on quite a few last minute hols and loved them, I don't see why it would be any different for a honeymoon. xx

I've never booked a last minute holiday so i'm just a bit worried about how easy etc it will be. I'm also a bit worried that we might not find a good deal and end up with no honeymoon at all lol xx

If you can't find a good deal straight away, doesn't mean you have to write off having a honeymoon. We're getting married in September and planning on going on our honeymoon in January (work is mad from Sept-December!) Shouldn't think it would be too difficult anyway, but it's worth bearing in mind if you're getting stressed about it, get the wedding out of the way first and then have a bit of time to look around for a good deal? Let us know what you decide!

That's a good idea. I just assumed we'd have one straight after the wedding if we did have one. I obviously just don't know anything about last minute deals haha xx

check group on or living social, we booked our mini-moon through there and got 3 nights in a 5* spa hotel for 289! Obviously flights on top etc but I've seen some deals including flights x

We are having a last minute honeymoon simply because we cant afford to book a honeymoon in advance but H2B gets his bonus a couple of weeks before the wedding so we will use that for the honeymoon. we have booked 2 weeks off work and are planning to go away for a week so we can be flexible with dates within those 2 weeks.

Last minute holidays are great - we went for 7 nights, all inclusive, with flights, 5* to Majorca for £329 each! :D Xx
CommentAuthorEcoFreak
PS - when looking at last minute deals it often seems that all inclusive is cheaper/same price as full board! Same with 5* & 4* hotels :) Xx

Soon2bblackwell, that's a good idea about booking the two weeks off so you have some flexibility. Ecofreak, thats a bargain :) how far in advance did you have to book? Was it like a few days before last-minute thing? I'm excited about the possibility of an all inclusive, i'd love that :) Xx
