I'm at the end of my tether with my eldest son. This is probably going to sound really stupid.

I asked him at the start if he would give me away to which he promptly said no but he would be a witness. Well that was fine with me and to be honest I wanted my youngest son to do it anyway but thought I best ask the eldest one first. So this was back in March when we sent the date son got married himself in June had a completely different wedding to what we are having was a lovely day really enjoy it, but since then I have hardly any contact with him what so ever (he only lives up the road from us ) and when I have and we have said anything about the wedding they promptly change the subject. Anyway they have been here tonight and they actually asked about the wedding and where they would be sitting at the reception so I said oh I thought I would sit you with my sister and her lot. Well I got a dirty look and he said oh we are expecting to sit on the top table with you. We had planned to just have us with my youngest son and his partner who would act as my parents as they are both gone and the best man and his wife who are H2B brother and wife plus our 2 bms. Now I've got to change it all....

Grrr kids who would have them!!!!!!!!

Rant over feel better now thanks Ladies x

Oh kids, we love them to bits but they don't half test our patience at times!! If you only have the two sons then I think just to keep the peace I would change it so that he doesn't feel left out xx

thanks for that ladies I've come into work and ranted as well lol. I wanted both of them included in our day but the eldest one doesn't get on with my H2B very well think alot of it is to do with with when his dad left. he was 22 at the time and still at home and was brillant with me as I was a mess (ex had walked after 25 years for someone else) he was very very supportive but 6 months after he moved out and in with his gf who is now his wife. I have now decided to keep the peace I'll put them on the top table H2B isn't happy but is willing to do it to keep the peace for me.

Now I need to know is 10 too many for a top table lol. xx

i had 10 on my top table so its fine i think. its prob a good idea to have them both on the top table, he probably doesnt want to give u away and be centre of attention but would still like some involvment so being with u all and his brother would make him feel part of ur day too. gld ur h2b has agreed to it x

I can see his point, although he might not have been very interested its obviously struck a chord by him being seated away from you. But 10 on a top table isnt too many so go for it xx

10 isnt too many at all ive got 9 on mine, infact most of my guests tables have 9 on them aswel! i can understand why he feels put out, if it was my mum getting re married i would want to be sat on the top table and feel more part of the day. we only have one little boy and he will be sitting on the top table inbetween my cheif bridesmaid and my mum, i couldnt have sat him enywere else it wouldnt have been right x
