I was wondering is it a good idea to have a kids table The oldest will be around 14 and the youngest will be about 3
I am just thinking is it a good idea. If we dont have the kids table we will have an odd number of tables. Is this ok I was going to have no decorations on the kids table just toys and colour things and sweet for after dinner.
Where as the adult table will have the decorations and the pretty things on.
Please help me

3-14 is quite a big age range, and the 3 yr old might wanna be with the parents, and the 14 too old to be at a kids table... also.... if any of the kids didn't know eachother it might not work, cos some kids are really shy. I'd just have an odd number of tables... we are.... I don't know why it would be a problem? x

Suppose it depends on the kids. Some will eat better and under more control if they are sat with their parents. Will the older one be a bit miffed sitting on a kids table or feel that they have to supervise the other kids. My baby is 11 and he would hate to sit on a kids table unless they were of similar age.
Not much help am I? I think that this can go 2 ways. Wish you luck.

ive been to 2 weddings with a kids table one was a complete disaster the noise level was unreal with the parent constantly up and down out of there seats to tell the kids to behave the speeches were a nightmare the kids were fighting lol at the other one it was a total sucess the kids seemed to be having a great time and were well behaved in both cases the tables had kids balloons and toys ect on them with sweets and things the tables looked great so i guess its a hit and miss sort of decision im having plenty of kids at our wedding but wont be having a kids table the kids will be sitting with there parents but they will have little goodie bags to keep them occupied xxxxx

i thought about it but thought it would go all wrong and be a nightmare! just going to sit the kids next to their parents and that may they can make sure they behave and eat their food! xx
im doing a kids table but the oldest is 16 an the youngest is 7, they all know each other really well and would end up being out of their seats most of the time so they could talk to the other kids. they have all be warned and told they must behave.

Personally I wouldnt for the meal. Instead ive got each child an activity bag full of goodies that will keep them occupied during the speeches etc and their parents if needs be lol.
However you could do a kids table for the evening reception and put lots of different things on there for them to do then???

Ok thank you ladies.
Like the kids table in the evening. I might put them on the table with there parents. I think I will have to have odd tables ( i only like even numbers.)

Most young people I know over the age of 11 (Secondary school) would hate to be treated as kids. We made activity packs for the under 10s. (Except the 3 month old. He just slept!!!)

Good thanks. I have to say though... we told the venue that anyone over the age of 16 was an adult and ordered alcohol for them!! (We knew the parents were fine with this!)

Bump is good!! It was more a case of we ordered alcohol for them, and let the parents decide. We didn't have many teenagers anyway- 4 I think!

We've only got two people under the age of 16 coming, one 6.5 and one 1.5 and they're both sitting with their respective parents. We are having a young persons table, with 16-21 on it so all the young people can have fun without their parents looking over their shoulders xx

I havent read the full thread but we were asked if we wanted a kids table and the venue was met with a not bl00dy likely! lol The kids will be from 3 to 10 and I dare say there will be nothing eaten, just shed loads of noise and a slice of pizza or 5 getting thrown across the room, mine are with me on the top table and every one else has theirs with them too. We will even have a naughty chair just outside the room lol (at the request of 2 other parents) just in case! xx

One thing is we have it there and can forewarn the littlies that it will get used lol I dare say my youngest (6) will be on it first lmao!! x

I've got a kids table, ages go between 5 and 10, and they have party boxes, with activities in and sweets. They are having different food - chicken nuggets and chips and ice cream x

We're having the kids sit with parents with a goodie bag to keep them occupied. Am in 2 minds whether to have a seperate table with colouring books etc on for when they get bored.
