Hi everyone, so me and my fiancé have been engaged for about 2 years now and he's my absoloute soul mate. We now have our little boy and he completes us. We've never really been in the position that we could say lets get married we aren't close with either of our family's and it's always just been the 2 of us well now 3. We're not in the position to afford a big extravagant wedding which probably isn't our style anyways. Just recently I've decided I am desperate to marry the man of my dreams and I've decided to try and elope at Gretna green (my dream would be on an exotic island abroad but we can't afford that) so Gretna it is. We've finally decided to just bite the bullet and elope and love the idea of my boy walking me up the aisle. I would love to meet new people for advice and there marriage stories if they've eloped. Plus I don't have a clue where to start!!

Go for it :) if its what you want then don't let anything stop you. Write a list of what important to you on the day and the price Nd see what you can afford and want on the day. Its your wedding day so have it how u want and don't let anyone try n tell you otherwise. I can't wait to marry my h2b and be able to be husband and wife. Unfortunatly I have to wait til next July lol x

It sounds like a big wedding with family you do not speak to is not what you would enjoy at all, so just go for what you want and do it your way.

I love the idea of your little boy walking you up down the aisle. I've seen really cute plaques he could hold saying "Daddy, here comes Mummy". Do what is best for you and your family. X
Go for it its your day after all and you should do what you want! You little boy walking you down the isle is lovely good luck with everything and any questions just ask can't help with anything on eloping as not that personally but sure there will be someone who has xx

This id what id have happily done but oh had other ideas, we are having a big wedding and tbh I wish we just went to the registry office and done it ourselves with our son.
