me and h2b have a song that we always played when we first got together. i then decided that i wanted the slow version for our first dance music. i have just googled the lyrics and after 6 years of playing it and singing it i have just realised that the song is about saying goodbye to the one you love. how i didnt realise before this i dont have a clue ha. the song is - listen to your heart by roxette so now im going to have to search for other songs arent i lol otherwise people are going to wonder why we chose a goodbye song haha x

I know it always makes me chuckle when people play Billy Idol's White Wedding or Whitney's I will always love you. One of my friends was going to have I will always love you and I had to explain that it was a goodbye songs, she had no idea just thought it was a nice song.
My h2b wanted the version of Wherever You Will Go the Charlene Soraia version until I sang the lyrics in breakdown mode for him. It's a real pain when you have the perfect song. The thing is no matter what the words are, it is still a significant song to your relationship, if only there was some way to explain that to your guests. x

I never know what songs are about, even one's i sing all the time! I'm leaving our first dance song up to my h2b as he knows a lot more about music than i do and also knows what they are about! I'd probably just end up picking a goodbye/break-up song otherwise!! :) xx

I love Bon Jovie always song with a BIG passion, and i have seen some people say they they want this song for there first dance, but as lovely as the words are in chorus, the song is about him wanting his ex back who is now with someone else.

I wanted Patience by Take That because when we first got together h2b was pretty guarded of his feeling because of his ex and there was one time when I just felt like I couldn't break the barrier and nearly gave up. I was sitting in Tesco car park crying when I switched the ignition on and that song was on the radio, when I listened to the words I thought "you're right Gary, I need to give him time and he'll let me in" to this day I'm grateful for that song and when I eventually told him about that day he said it was now his favourite song because it saved our relationship. I just don't think our guests would get it and I don't want to have to explain it, so we're having Rule the World instead. x

My friend had someone like you by adele - i think they just loved the song so didnt care about the lyrics It did make me laugh when she told me having "first time ever i saw your face" was inappropriate though as it is a bit sad lol

ooo i've just discovered a website that gives u song ideas to all parts of your wedding, music while guests are waiting, music while imprtant people are bing seated brides entrance, leaving music and even music for when the guests follow you out! then their is all sorts of recertion music like 1st dance father-daughter mother-son etc! i will post it on my wall if any1 is interested i haven't yet explored the site myself but i shll do so now! exciting!

We're having paolo nutini - loving you. We love it cos its different, and we're always dancing around the house together to paolo nutinis albums. The lyrics talk about forgetting loneliness, your partner having a flawless soul and it also talks about gettin down n dirty lol (bit inappropriate but we're hoping people won't notice. Hi our song is Lets stay together by Al Green H2B dances with me when it comes on the radio, we love it and I and think it sums up marriage. The line that say 'lets stay together when times are good or bad, happy or sad' makes us think about compromise and understand what we are entering into, but its still a beautiful love song.

We are having an acoustic version of Use Somebody by Kol as our first dance. Some of the lyrics aren't very love song-y but the song is very "us" so we're having it anyway. Who cares what everyone else thinks, it's your day and if you love a song then you should just go for it. Especially if items something to you xxx
