Hi all, I have just been and paid an installment to my venue. Paid my deposit when I booked and now this payment. Im not getting married for 23months yet but decided to do my payments like "pays as you go" rather than save up and then pay. Im hoping my venue will be paid up in the next ten months. My dress is half paid for and car deposit has been done. This way im also not seeing the money go as I would if it were in great big chunks. Makes me feel calmer too. How are you all doing yours?

Its so handy when places let you pay and go, Seems like your very organised :) We payed things off as we went found it so much better and we could see where every penny was going!
Were nearly finished paying things off, Need to order the cake next friday and just got to pay the photographer and buy sweets for the buffet! x

Thats how we have done ours, makes it a lot easier to pay for everything else swell as your not stung with a massive bill that you have to save for.

pretty much the same although im getting grief from my mother because "they might go out of bussiness" tbh that can happen anytime but like u i need to spread costs xxxxx

My mum was also the same! But we have no wedding insurance! Ekkk!! But im not worried at all x

We did pay as you go where we could, and if we couldn't we put it in a separate bank account and then it wasn't visible in our regular accounts so we didn't spend it and we were able to make payments straight from that account.

We paid our venue in instalments, the bills are coming in thick and fast now though lol. I have paid for the cars last week, this week I finished paying for my dress and paid the florist on tuesday and paid for the cake today. Just got the bill for the registry office today so will pay that tomorrow so we just have the DJ who we pay on the night and the photographer who we can pay 2 weeks before, I 'll be glad when its all paid for and I can sit back and just enjoy the buildup to the day x

I think it makes it more stress free and easier to make the wedding plans without money stress being the main thing. It's my dad that was stressing about the venue going bust but they have loads of weddings there and they are an exclusive sports and country club so i'm sure we'll be fine. I just told him in the end I will put the money by in an account. He's happy now and not nagging me about it.

We're paying deposits - I've done all of the payments so far apart from half of the venue deposit which H2B and I split. We'll get balances paid off nearer the time but I've got money put aside for it in a separate account, H2B has money aside and our parents will also contribute so hopefully we'll be ok for paying all the balances next year. xx

I am hoping the next 23 months go fast, my H2B is over excited already and can't wait, he is just as bad at christmas, he get more excited than the children. I don't know how I am going to contain him for the wedding, he is going to drive me nuts.

thats what im doing as well , me and my partner are giving money to my dads bank so he can then pay things off for us as we live in different places and this way we dont really notice to much the pinch on our pockets xxx

lol your are as organised as me thats what we have been doing pay as you go and we have now paid over £3000 towards the wedding :)

We have a seperate wedding account so we put money in there and then my parents put money if there too so when i am paying for things it all comes out of one account so easier to manage. We paid our deposit first for our venue and my dad is paying the final bill so dont have to worry about it and other stuff i buy as i go along. xx

We did the same, deposits first for the venue and registrar, then paid everything off bit by bit. It does make it easier, and it's such a buzz when you pay a bit more off! Sadly though as soon as money went in the wedding account it was spent again! Only the rest of the registrar to pay, and the chaircovers. Mum and Dad paid for the flowers in full a few weeks ago. Getting exciting now!!!

I have final payment on venue, car, photographer, wedding venue decorator, DJ, flowers in two weeks and then cake the day before wedding. Oh and dress alterations to pay for next week. x
