Hi everyone, just a little rant soz... my venue just contacted me telling me that the bridge my hotel venue is based at is going under repairs and wont be finished until mid august, the thing is they told us it might be delayed if the river or weather is bad and im getting married on the 27th aug... i know its not that big of deal but its one of the reason why we picked it as my photographer has done a wedding there before and the photos of couples standing on the bridge is soooo lush. The venue said that they will do the best for us to make our day special and said they are in contact with the council and if it does for behind they will stop work for the day which is ace but it dont sort out the view, i dont want it looking like a builders yard...
Soz for the rant but i knew something like this would happen
    xxx

Aww hun, what I would do is speak with your photographer and the venue and confirm with both of them that if this happens can you go back once the work is finished and have the photos taken? The venue will be absolutely fine im sure, but the photographer maybe a different matter, but you could even get a friend to take some photos of you! If you have bought your dress/suit then this should be fine! Fingers crossed though x

could you maybe find another bridge and get your photographer to take photos of you there instead, if the bridge isn't done :)

Dont panic! Im sure you're photographer can find somewhere to take the piccies that wont have building stuff int he background - failing that he could always photoshop them out! x

    Hi Kay
Thought of another idea if the building work isn't finished or its raining. You could try to negociate with the venue and photographer for a second photoshoot when the venue looks lovely! (September can be really nice and warm). Not sure whether this'll cost more tho. Haven't sent out invites yet as one of H2b's friends is making them and we haven't quite finalised design - hope to by end of month then the international ones can go out 1st week of April and the rest by end of April/Early May. We're putting an RSVP by date on them so we can chase people who haven't replied! x x

I know the feeling Kay - we got a Letter from Historic Scotland last August after we had booked and paid for the Cathedral telling us that they were starting Restoration work on the Cathedral for the next 3years! Right now the unsightly scaffolding takes pride of place right at the front of the Cathedral but i'm just hoping it will maybe be moved around to the side of the building by the time July comes as it's been at the front for a while!! You just have to remain positive and no matter what happens your day will be wonderful anyway!! xx
