We booked our venue only last month......it was a re-booking because our other venue was giving us the run-around so we cancelled and booked what was my first choice of venue anyway......
But when we booked we knew that the hotel was fully booked, and that the complimentary bedroom they offer for the Bride & Groom was subject to availability.
Natalie the wedding co-ordinator said that if a room became available she would put us down for it.....

Today she emailed me to say that someone had cancelled, and that she had got us a 4 poster bedroom booked complimentary!
We will have flowers and strawberries and champagne waiting for us when we get up to our room, and we also get breakfast in the room the next morning if we want to!
I cant begin to explain how happy I am right now......
I mean it would have been OK, we would just have gone home that night and got a lift from my friend who lives 5 doors away from me......and back the next morning to fetch the car, but this is so so much better......its what I dreamed of, waking up in a 4 poster next to my husband.......idyllic......I really cant wait for my wedding day.

thanks girls......it was such a lovely surprise because i never really expected a room would come up when Natalie said she would keep us in mind. I had already told myslef we would be coming home, but it didnt make me regret booking the venue because its a gorgeous place to hold our wedding.......this is just the icing on the cake and its perfect....

And yes Brilly you are right......its cheered me up after having such sh1t over the past couple of days/

Lovely - what fab news!

I emailed the venue today to ask if me and the bridesmaids could have our room early in the day to get ready in, and she emailed back straight away saying yes we can have it from 12 o clock, which is perfect. our ceremony is at 2 and its 5 miles away. we can get ready there and have some photos taken in the gardens before leaving for the registry office.
I am toying with the idea of staying the previous night there too, but havent decided yet. of course that wont be free like the bridal suite is, but I dont know if i want all 5 of us getting ready in there together and leaving the room in a mess for me and H2B to walk back into on our wedding night.....It might just be better to get ready in another room and stay on the friday night so that I can do the last minute touches to the cake and tables etc......to have the room for the friday is only £60 so i think it would be nice to do that.

I agree with Roxy :-) save your room for you and your hubby!! I am getting ready in my mums room, just down the corridor and then going into our bridal suite for a few photos of me in my dress......im only doing this becuase the bridal suite has a georgous big bay window and a seat cushions around it so we could be to get some good dress shots....and the views outside are fab :)

Oh what lovely news!! Guess that's the icing on the cake for you guys... it is a beautiful room very fit for two newlyweds x
