    ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I have booked a ring appointment for thursday, but my partner has to work and i haven't got the number to re-aarange and part of me really doesn't want to. i just dont know whether it is worth continuing.

also had a cake appointment the other day and Loved it, by my partner has his heart set on another cake that he has tried. For a like for Like quote the difference is is £55. which is a lot

have my first ever trying on of wedding dresses booked for January and I cant wait.... Its the only dress we can go shopping for as my MOH is pregnant, so i dont put any pressure on her I have said that we wont look till this time next year. As for my BM she seems to have disappeared off the planet....

It would be better if you were both there to choose the rings and you do have plenty of time. Are you planning to pay monthly for rings? if so I understand the need to do it sooner rather than later.
I too have sent out my save the date cards, though alot of my friends had never seen or heard of them before!

My moh is pregnant too so can't do anything about there dresses either.

What has happened to your bm?
How about choosing a different cake all together or maybe trying to combine the 2 somehow if possible.
You will get there and it will all come together.

we are planning to pay monthly for the rings, the problem i have is EVERYTIME i arrange to do anything, he gets called into work. And we are desperate for the money so at the moment he cant refuse, especially as they can suddenly drop his hours down. it is a case of grabbing whilst we can. :o(

I keep getting thanked for the invite lol, though im sure at some point people will realise it doesn't say a time lol.

My MOH got married in August, and since then our mate has been really really off, to the point that we never see her. She blames it on the fact we dont go out and get drunk (we both have kids), but before MOH got married she was happy to sit in with a couple of bottles of wine. We text her and dont get an answer, and its upset my MOH, she was closr to her then i am. The thing is we cant work out whats happened, she is married so it cant be the fact she is jealous that Flick got married. She was happy to be BM, but she wont mention the wedding and has just been really dismissive of what i have done.

We have agreed on a cake design, its just the taste of the cake lol. We are having a chocolate and plain sponge one and he isnt worried about the toppers and everything. its just he prefers the taste of one.

oh i don't know. I found a DJ i liked and now i cant get hold of him :o(

Only thing thats gone smoothly is finding the venue :o) and the lady doing my hair and make-up has reserved the date for me, even though i cant afford to pay a deposit yet

But you have time...I know the big things have to be sorted, but you don't need to panic yet.
If you're going to pay monthly for the rings, keep the ring appointment - get all details about the monthly payments, choose ones you like and ask if you can start making the payments on account, but that you'll have to make another appointment for your h2b to confirm the choice of rings. That way, at least payments aren't getting behind.
As for the BM, you don't have to choose dresses until baby is here, so don't worry about her either. You will know by that time whether she's still a good enough friend to have as BM - if not, choose someone else. Alot changes in a year.
You should also just keep notes on the cakes. Don't book anything until nearer the time - you may find someone who can do it all tastier and cheaper. Again, alot changes in a year and the cake makers you like now may have different recipes, different cooks, have moved premises - anything.
Lots of us on here are pulling weddings together in just a few weeks - me being one of them, so I think that I can safely assure you that as long as you keep plodding and making little bits of progress / have a savings or payment plan going on, you're doing fine for the moment :0)

I know we have tons of time, just we have loads going on SIL2B gets married in Guernsey next year that we have to save up for, hopefully moving and I'm just frightened that all of a sudden i am going to have no time, especially when i go back to work

hey... why dont you pull your moh and bm together and you try some dresses on. make it into a girly day out and perhaps grab some lunch together. then your all be relaxed because you will have been having fun and perhaps you could bring up the subject (nice and calmly) that your bm feels distant and how you can get back on track.. maybe even plan a wedding fair outing a few weeks after to make sure that distance doesnt come back. the sooner everythings out in the open the sooner you can go back to enjoying your friends instead of concerns growing.

i agree with jo on the cake... our ideas have changed several times already. xx

we have tried to get her to see us, but she would much rather go out and get drunk. To the point she started lying to us, then getting so plastered she forgets she's "ill" and comments on bookface, and uploads photos. she works during the day, so cant do lunch.

Was very happy yesterday, my H2B wanted to go down town and look at wedding rings, mainly because he has to work on Thursday night, and i wanted to know what style he wants. He found one he really likes (which is a miracle because he is sometimes very indecisive) so i am hoping there is going to be one very similar on thursday. if not we will probably end up going for the one we saw yesterday!

Also found another DJ who will do what i want for a good price. Just need to work out timings for the day now.

I know I have plenty of time, but we need to know what money we need to put aside everymonth and also have a wedding in guernsey to save up to go to, little mans first birthday, and a few other bits too. And I'm just one of those people who wants to be very organised, because i know something will go wrong. it always does.

Had an email from the ring advisor today and he is coming earlier tomorrow so Matt can be here for it too :o) Also heard from my first choice of DJ today, not sure gonna go with him, as all the things we discussed and he did a rough quote for, he has now tripled the price. so got one more to contact to see if he is any good.

Found some gorgeous fake flowers today, so hopefully they will still be availble in January, as want to decide the style of dress first.

MOHs scan monday week, I cant wait to see bubs. also looking forward to looking after her little boy, he is 2.5 and he is rather scared of my 8 month old lol

On a good note i found my shoes today!!! i saw them and i fell in love with them. I know that i should find the dress first, but im in a catch 22. i need an operation on my foot, and was advised that i wont be able to wear new shoes for a year! so i have to get my wedding shoes broken in before the operation.

we were going to have cars, but as we are getting married in the same place we decided to spend the money on other bits as our budget is very tight, and they werent that important to us.

It depends on the budget, and obviously how important they are to you. I would talk to the company, as the distance is so short they may (or may not) offer a discount. also see how much it costs to have it there for the photos, some companies offer a drive round if you have it for that.

when are you getting married? if its 'out of season' you might get a better deal as well, just a thought

I know in the long run its gonna be good, as gonna get partial dentures, which will be great. Srupid what a fear leads too :o(

I've not booked anything yet either, in fact, I haven't even chosen a reception venue yet. I'm not too worried, I figured that once Christmas was over I'd crack on with it. Started a couple of bits, and hope to book the chapel, reception venue and photographer in the next few weeks. Then chose a dress, which is proving more difficult that I thought!!

I have decided that I am going to attempt to make my own wedding flowers, but if i cant do it by october then i am going to rethink it lol, no point putting myself under unnecessary pressure.

So just got the wedding favours/placenames to do, which should be done by August, who ever doesnt come is going to have them sent through the post with a note saying we missed you. then they not wasted lol.

Am looking at doing a course to do this for a living, (wedding planning) but i dont know.

Im trying on more dresses on the 17th march, when these pins are out my feet, and me and matt will be sorting the suits out next week i think, so he has time to mull over what he wants. we have decided to buy Bens suit rather than rent, then we dont have to worry if he is like a little boy and gets it messed up.

Rings turned up and i love them, i am so glad i gave them another chance.

Still not sorted the suits out, really must get onto that..... Wedding dress try on on Saturday, hopefully my dream dress is still my dream dress lol.

I paid the deposit for hair and make up, so thats that for now.

Still not sorted chair covers and bits, or finished the invitations.... get this test out the way and then i will get on with my wedding till the next lot turn up me thinks lol

Need to find and reserve a DJ. Thinks thats all the important things for now. Ordered my dress today, was rather down when it turns out it needs ordering in a size 16, but apparently the sizing is a bit out, so not as bad as it sounds. But the good thing it, it was that size that i had tried on, so i know that i need to put money aside as the bust needs altering slighty. always good to know these things i think.... its a phoenix T929 is anyone wants to be nosey.

Also got a long sparkly veil, it really sets off my dress, my dad came with us to see it on and he was speechless....

sort of launched my wedding planning business on facebook now, I want to get the last to tests done before i make the website lve. its really exciting, i have got a few bits to find for people already and building up a supplier base too. cant wait to work with a few!!

My veil is in already :o) but we can leave it in the shop till the dress comes in, but least i am confident the order has been placed. Not that I had doubts it would be, but you know what i mean.

my sil2bs wedding is causing me and OH huge problems. we have spent more on her wedding then we have on our own. and its just going up, she has now decided to have a hen do over, despite telling me yesterday she wasnt having one til we were in guernsey. We are broke and literally live hand to mouth, so this short notice is impossible, that and i would have to find a babysitter on short notice. i know i am being selfish, but this is the girl that is getting married in guernsey even though her mum lives the same as we do, and her dad and step-mum have no money either. YET his family has money, but htey get to stay at home. and she threw a major hissy fit, becuase hte wedding is at the beginning of exam period and her lil sister who is studing a-levels had an exam thta week.

Sorry just really winding me up.

though i am throwing a surprise for oh and my parents, I am booking a magician to entertain during the meal (we have a lot of kids) but not telling ANYONE so excited. i know people might see it as tacky.....

watching England winnina (at 86 mins) and doing wedding favours, nearly a third of the way through my keyrings. Although I shouldnt be doing them now, in case people dont come (my mothers words). I said I would rather have to decide what to do with people not coming, then try and do 82 keyrings, and everything else in the last 3 months. am I wrong? should i wait till i get rsvps??

I got the chair covers booked, but my mother would me up on that one 2. luckily i already had had a meeting with the lady so it wasnt too bad. She turned round to Debbie and said dont listen to her, shes only the bride (and no she wasnt joking.)

invite wording and suits have to wait till they come back off holiday, which is not bad although they were nagging Matt to look at suits.
