I am sat here hoping some of our more distant relatives decline our invitation just so our tables balance up better :-/
I have two 9 tables, four 8 tables, two 7 tables and one 2 table at the moment....... Don't think the 2 table will work somehow !!
The 9 tables will have a 2 year olds each on them, does anyone know if a highchair classes as a seat or if it is a bit away from the table ??
We have such big chunks within the guest list, like my cousin her hubby and 3 kids, so it's hard to find 3 people to sit with them.. I've ended up putting my auntie and uncle on with them (my cousins mum and dad) but it still makes another 7 table :-(

Even if we do get a few rejections it'll be a mixture of 9's, 8's and 7's ! Hmph..

Has anyone else had this problem ?
    xxx

I'm mostly worried about the 9 table and the 2 table... Our tables are on the borderline of comfy with 8 people, so 9 is kind've pushing it.. It is 2 year olds that are making them 9 tables though, so I don't know if it could just be set up so that the highchair is next to rather than at the table ?? I can make one of the 7 tables into a 9 by adding the 2 table.. Really didn't want tables of 9 though :-(

My mum said she'll do the table plan for me but I just wanted a rough idea of if it's going to work... I suppose it'll have to do unless she can make it better ! xxx

I am yet to tackle this... but have a feeling that this will be a similar situation for us! even our top table is unbalanced!
Refuse to start it until we have all the RSVPs back! But when I do a quick workout in my head i feel that we will be having some random numbers per table! x

Our top table has 10 on it !! Me, H2B, MOB, FB, BOB, MOH, FIL, BMan, 2 stepsons..

My family make up 75% ish of the guest list and I'm trying not to shove anyone with people they don't know but it's pretty hard ! xxx

Table plan has been a thorn in my side - I have one part of my family not talking to another - I also have a few odd balls, no idea who can put up with them for 2 hours either!
I don't have 2yr old/high chair issues tho, thankfully - I would think it depends on the layout of your room - if they arent sitting the chair at an actual place - will there be room to sit it to the side and still walk about/ in between tables etc.
The more I think about it, the more I think high chairs would be sat at the table as a place setting x

I was trying to solve the 9 places issue with highchairs lol.. There's plenty of room if we place those tables correctly to have the highchair to the side of one of their parents, but then it's like excluding them I think.... Grrr ! I guess I'll just have to have 3 squished tables ! xxx

Yeah I don't think it matters what ur table numbers are like, if they're mismatch it will look better than all 8's and a couple of 7's ... Don't think we're gonna have completely matchy tables x

I just know that 8 is crowded as it is, so 9 is going to be very squashed ! xxx

I can fit more tables, but I'll honestly end up with a 'rejects' table ! Lol.. It's the younger kids are making it difficult ! Also, trying not to mix families as don't want people to feel awkward.. xxx

ive 110 coming to the day so this has been one of the main things for me to get at least a pencil mark for where people could sit!

at the moment i've got mostly 10s but there are 3 or 4 tables of 11, a few 7s (people keep having children and thats driving me mad)

It's quite good how i've managed it, ive two tables of aunt and uncles from all sides. a top table and then a table which i'm calling a second top table with grandparents and siblings & close family.

Three tables of cousins, all mixed from all sides

then tables of family friends which are all sat together, then tables of close friends to me and h2b. Then like you said Georgi, a rejects table - of people that are friends but just dont seem to fit with anyone else - there was 5 on that table, but it came apparent that those on that table are also career minded so we've found another couple who are also career minded from a family table and stuck them there!!

I just hope that no one else has any more children and no one else gets a partner between now and then!!!

Another thing is, when do you cut off bringing "other halves"??

I wanted to mix tables too but I think people would just feel awkward :-/ I'm not sure.. Aunties and uncles mixing might be ok, but all of our cousins have kids so it would literally be one couple per family and all their kids, I'd at least want two couples from each family on each table.. Around 20% of our guests are under 10... Tis a pain !
Kids tables don't work either cause I mentioned it and all their parents moaned about having to get up if their kid needed them or needed telling off :-/

Unless I know the name of the 'other half' then there is no +1 ! If they ask to bring them, then I'll say yes (We're only having family, no friends at the day) but if not then happy days :-) We got our quote based on everyone having a +1, so if +1's get cut, then so does our price :-)

Oh ! Our families keep having babies too ! Had 5 in the last year and 4 of those was in the last 7 months ! I found out Sunday that my MOH (SiL) may possibly be pregnant at my wedding as they plan to start trying at beginning of 2015... I've banned them from doing the dirty in Nov/Dec next year cause else she'll be ready to drop by time of my wedding ! haha xxx
