Just booked a 5 star lodge in Cumbria for our honeymoon. A place called The Tranquil Otter. It looks amazing!! We were going to go abroad but for the money we wanted to spend we wouldve had a rubbish hotel in a kinda beachy place. We wouldve much preffered a city break somewhere interesting but we wouldve had to stay in a minging hotel for the money we have. So we have booked a luxury 5 star lodge with a hot tub and its own private rowing boat and a lake just yards from the lodge. It loooks AMAZING!!!!!
I am so excited, cant wait to spend time with my boy doing :-)

I was so excited and then my MIL2B has started on H2B about the price (we had a set budget and I went over by £20, yes £20!!!!!) and saying theres nothing to do in cumbria. I am so deflated now. I really hate her sometimes. She can be great but she wants to be so involved in everything we do. To be honest at the moment I wish she would just get to f$%k. Old b*tch has ruined my day now :'-(

huni £20 is nothing for heavens sake! there are loads of things to do in cumbria. we went for a weekend and didn't have enough time to do everything we wanted. Keswick is great as their is a zoo and all sorts there there is the lake windermere and you can just go for a walk and get lost in the bushes *wink wink*
tell her to shush and stop putting a downer on everything, you and your OH can do what you want as it is YOUR wedding not hers. ( i would have said far harsher things but i wanted to be polite on the forum)

lol, its cos she stresses H2B out and now he is all worried about money. Our wedding rings are a bit more expensive that we first budgeted for but weve got a good discount. I think he is panicking about money.
She can b*gger off. She always has to nip him with her opinion. My mum is the same, I wish theyd just be excited for us. We've not got long to go so we really needed to book something asap. Thank you girls. I am not going to let any of them annoy me. Its hardly way over budget and I have a gigs every weekend for the next 5 weekends so extra money coming in from that anyways.
Its just annoying cos I was so excited and I wanted my man to be excited too and she made him all deflated and grumpy :-(

Thank you, you should have a look at their website. Ive never seen a place with no bad reviews on tripadvisor before. This doesnt have a single bad review! 5 stars from nearly everyone. I have a horrible need to check tripadvisor and it usually puts me off places lol.

Awww it sounds lovely! As for £20 it's not going to seriously real the bank is it? As for mil, tell er to sod off!! It's your n h2b day no one else's! MIL' s can be total nightmares sometimes!! My mil doesn't think we should be having a big wedding as my H2B has been married before!!! But I have to say he did tell her that everyone deserves the wedding of their dreams and just cos he married the wrong one the first time doesn't mean that I have to go without a wedding! And also it's not that we are asking any of the parents to pay for it! We are doing it all ourselves!!! X

Cumbria is lovely you'll have a lovely romantic time and there are things to do but you'll be busy making your own entertainment, if you know what I mean. Dont let your mil2b spoil it, they think they are right about everything but just remember its only her opinion which she is entitled to but it doe'snt mean it's right. We were considering Cumbria for ours when we were first looking for our honeymoon.

Thank you everyone, we were looking at it last night and it looks so pretty, theres otters, swans, coots and ducks in the lake and lots of birdies like swallows and blue tits. I'm so excited about it :-) I was pretty deflated about the whole thing because I thought we were gunna end up with just a normal holiday but this looks really special. I am so excited about getting married now :-) If anyone wants details of the place let me know :-) only 2.5 months to go now!! I cant wait :-)

Well as far as 'theres nothing to do in Cumbria'......Well you dont want to be doing anything anyway do you? but spending time with your new hubby and relaxing after the hard work of planning the wedding. relaxation......bring it on......
