Pianist during the wedding breakfast, then a band afterwards. *Might* do a photobooth (our photographer offers it for an extra £250) depending on budget. I'd love a magician for the little ones but I imagine they're pricey!

All we're having is organist at the church and DJ in the evening at the reception venue. Can't really afford anything else but I think I'll get some blow up air guitars from the bay or amazon for the disco and maybe some glow sticks.

Will see if we can just stick a CD on during the meal.

We had DJ in the evening and a string quartet from guests arriving, through the ceremony and drinks reception and through the wedding breakfast. It was the one thing that Husband really wanted so we found the extra money. Really glad we did as loads of people commented on how good they were and that they hadn't seen it at anyone elses wedding.

Zoe81, ooh a string quartet sounds lovely!! Was it expensive? We are thinking pianist for the dinner (I know a piano teacher who thinks she can help me find someone) but after your post I'm now thinking something for guests arriving and then continuing for dinner sounds lovely! Xx

I have a harpist for the ceremony and drinks reception then a live band in the evening. It has worked out at £650 for the both of them which i dont think is too bad considering the harpist will be there for 2 1/2 hours and the band for 3 1/2 hours (obviously with a break :) ). x

Erm, we have a laptop full of music for the evening do, and with any luck someone might do a dance performance (alcohol + music = dad dancing lol!!)
Our venue is in the country, a council run country park, so hoping that between cereomony and meals people can find plenty to do that is already provided!!

We're having a harpist for arrivals and walking down isle, signing registers and then she'll play for drinks on the lawn too (better be great weather!). Then a live band from 8pm -12pm, with a Bulesque dancer for an hour on the bands break. We may book a guy whos been recommended, a Frank Sinatra type stint (outside again)for when we're away getting photographed.

MrsE 2b The string quartet were about £600 for 5 hours, which we thought was really good, especially after the compliments from the guests about them! But you could have them for as long as you want (I think minimum was 2 hours). I'll post the link on your wall.

Oh thanks Zoe- I just found them on youtube, they're very good! And that was actually great value for 4 members for 5 hours- good find! They're North West though which unfortunately wouldn't work for London.

Mrs K 2B would you mind popping a link on my wall for your harpist?
Btw my wall is public so not sure why Zoe couldn't post?

Nothing booked for me yet, but I'm planning on getting a friend that does circus lira (or maybe even doing it myself as I teach it) to perform at the wedding.

I also would like a band if I can afford it, personally I'd like a soul/blues/funk band or a blues brother's tribute!

We are probably doing our own music (laptop, ipod job!). H2B has friends with all the kit (we may just bribe him to do a set for us!). We're also having a characturist for the switchover between meal and evening guests arriving! xx

I have no idea about entertainment. I want some... but i cant decide what! I wanted to set a couple of consoles up, but im not sure if that would be possible... we'd need the tvs and the consoles, which would be mine, and im not sure how i feel about lettign all my guests loose on them.... unless there's a way I coudl keep them out of harms way....!
