Well girls we did it and I will post pics next week when we get them back from the photographers.

I spent the night before in a hotel on my own watching bridezilla and bride wars then went to bed. Even with sleeping tablets I only got an hours sleep but I felt really chilled out. I had gone down to breakfast and was sitting with my feet up in front of the tv when the make up lady came. I have to admit I did have my veil and tiara on with said dressing gown haha.

The morning went well with everyone arriving on time and nothing had been forgotten. The sun was out and the car arrived on time. It was a surprise from the hubby and turned out to be a beautiful rolls royce erm something or other haha. People were turning heads when we were drivin to the venue.

We got there and met up with the registrar in which I was still calm and proceeded to get out the car and walk down the aisle. (still calm) The h2b's face when he saw me was a picture. His face lit up and although he didn't cry he was very emotional. I managed to remember to stick my tongue out at him and he did it back which made the guests giggle. I bolted up the aisle though as I just wanted to kiss him. My MOH was trying to pull me back and slow me down but it wasn't going to happen lol. When I got there he got a big kiss and luckily the registrar asked if he wanted to kiss me again so I got a second. I didn't cry but my nose started to run instead so I had to yank my hanky out from my cleavage which again made the guests giggle. I think the hardest part was saying my personal vows right after Kev had said his because I was very emotional and had to take a deep breath before I could say mine. Just remember though that it isn't something you have to rush so take your time and do it when you are ready. The service went very quickly and before we knew it we were man and wife!

We walked out and drove in the car round to the church for the blessing. It was great to get some time on our own to reflect on what we had just done. The blessing went really well and the rose ceremony was done perfectly by our vicar. Everyone commented afterwards how nice it was. He also incorporated the rest of the service around it too which made it personal to us.

Photo's flew by and then it was dinner time. Well the sun had vanished and the heavens opened. While we were having dinner we had the biggest storm I have seen in a long time and it even knocked off the power. It was a good job we booked a harpist and didn't have a cd player lol. The candles also added to the ambiance of it all. The power was soon restored and the meal was lovely. We had an hour while the room was changed over so went to our room to spend some time on our own. I was then filled in on the panic they had that morning as we nearly didn't have a best man! He was so ill over night the doc wanted him in hospital on a drip but he went against advice to be there for us on the day. By all accounts it had made them all late and they were running around like headless chickens that morning trying to get ready on time. It was nice to be able to spend some time together on our own though as you do get pulled all over the place trying to talk to everyone.

We couldn't have asked for a better day but one thing I would say is that most of the calm was from lots of planning and good organisation so we didn't have to run around at the last minute. Also if you are inviting families with kids be prepared for them to go home early. Lots of ours missed our first dance because of this and also missed the cake cutting. The other thing I'm so pleased we did was to ask a friend to video the wedding. We weren't going to bother but decided at least minute to do it and I'm so pleased we did because the day is a blur. Everything goes so quick you forget it all. It doesn't have to be a pro recording but enough to remind you of everything that happened. Photos are amazing but they still miss bits. If you can I would encourage you all to get it videoed.

For all of you about to get married or are still planning remember that it doesn't have to be stressful. get prepared for everything while there is still time. Enjoy the day after all you are marrying the man of your dreams. Plan some time together as just husband and wife as otherwise you will never see them again after the service. It goes so quickly so make sure you take time throughout the day to step back and take it all in. We made most of our decorations etc and we were so proud when we saw it all come together. It really is worth all of the hard work. x x x

aww that is a lovely story!! I love reading wedding stories :) Good idea about getting a video of the big day, especially by a friend as a professional can be so expensive! I'm glad you had a lovely day and honeymoon congrats on becoming a wife :D xx

Thanks hun. It won't be long until you are in the married club. It soon flies by. I can't believe I have already been married for two weeks and it only seams like last month we got engaged.

Aww Jo it sounds like you had a wonderful day, I'm so glad everything went so well for you and that the best man was okay! Really can't wait to see the pics, the one you posted was absolutely beautiful and you both look happy and proud just like you said :) I bet it was truly amazing seeing all your hard work pay off!

Thanks guys and I agree the hubby does scrub up well. He couldn't stop beaming when the Jag pulled up for him as it was a total surprise. He was just blown away with it. I just can't believe that I have already been married for two weeks. I put on my wedding dress again today and it still doesn't seam like we have been and done it as it all went so fast.
