Getting married in august next year and mil2b has suggested the men only wearing waistcoats especially if its this hot! Dont want the groom passing out lol just not sure how it will look? We are having quite a traditional wedding with a proper wedding breakfast but I do want a relaxed vibe to the day, just not very sure lol any advice ? Xx

I'd say have the jackets. They can wear them for the photos and then take them off afterwards. Also, it may not be as hot next August so it may not be a problem

Jackets, it'll probably be p*ssing it down next August anyways. If it's really hot I'd have them a shirts & tie - the waistcoat look reminds me of snooker players.

Were married end of July 14 and opted for shirt, cravat, jacket. Outfit came with a waistcoat but we decided to ditch it. Maybe too hot xx

We got married 29 September and our suits had waistcoat and jackets. All the men took their jackets off after the ceremony and photos but although it was sunny, the wind was bitterly cold.
I really did marry my Mr Wright and we had a nice day for a
Wright wedding!
Mexico for our first anniversary <3

Sounds like an excuse to relax... you may be ridiculously hot in your dress but he needs to keep some formality, as mentioned he can take it off later.
And we lived happily ever after!

You know what? It's becoming quite fashionable for us guys to wear just waistcoats for their wedding. It also adds a "fun" element to the day as opposed to being to stuffy.
If you are going down the waistcoat only route for the majority of the day, suggest the guys wear a fly/wing collar, open-necked, with no tie. Again, adds fun, and is not in the least bit scruffy.
But, as others have suggested, there is the option of taking the jacket off...

Better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it.
