When you get to your reception venue to sit down to eat, regardless if you are marrying there, just take a minute and imagine yourself on the table... where would you put your hat so it doesnt get trampled on or squished?
We're just buying a piece of ribbon and some pegs and tying it along the back wall so that the ladies can peg there hats up :) That way the kids don't trample on , drinks and food don't get spilt on them and its livens up the wall in the reception :)
Its so cheap and easy to do that even the smallest of budgets can do it :)
