Hi me again, 2nd post if the day! But I just needed to rant to all you lovly ladies and I know u will all understand. So my sister (my moh) and my mum arranged my hen party a few weeks agao for the end of June. They refused to let me know any thing at all about it which drove me mad. I hate no knowing what I doing. I was talking to my mum today and she accidentally let silp what I was doing. She said among a few other small actvities we are cocktail making that would be fun but I don't drink! I don't drink at all toally T-total!! Mum and sister know that I am t-total as I have been for years, so why on earth would they book a cocktail making session!! I know they will enjoy it and every one that is comming will enjoy it apart from me. It's is selfish for me to think that my hen party should be about me and what I want? I have them so meany ideas and they ignored them all! I am going to and try to enjoy it just hope I can mix some non alcoholic cocktails maby....

I completely agree with what you're saying Clair. It's your hen, they should listen and take on board everything that you have said. They know your t total so I don't understand why they'd book this. Could they not arrange something else for you instead? Xx

Because if not... I genuinely can't understand why they would do that. It's mean. Like... my mum and my bridal party will be sorting mine out but most likely it will involve a BBQ, drinks, and a mechanical bull because it's what I asked for. I have a best man so spa day wouldn't work and I don't like going out partying... I would be absolutely livid if they then went and booked a spa day or a night on the town which I specifically asked not to have.
You're not being selfish at ALL, it's YOUR hen do. Not theirs.
My mother would do something like this to wind me up though, so is yours like that at all? It might be that they've planned something totally different but they don't think you'll love it so they tell you it's cocktails and then when you find out it isn't you'll think what you are doing is amazing?? I don't know...

I spoke to my sister and she was really annoyed that mum had let slip. I think she knew that it is some thing I won't want up do and that's why it had to be keeped a secret from me. I just don't know what to think why they chose the cocktail making? My Said there will be a few other smaller activities. Ther is no point in me ranting to them about it as it is already booked and every one that is comming has already paied. I will ask next time I see mum and find our why they decided on click take making.

I'd just say to ur sister make sure they have non alcoholic cocktails to make otherwise its pointless me making any! I get why they would do that activity as sounds fab but not for someone who is t total!

...I'd be so freaking angry if I were you. :( I'm sure they must have thought about you and mocktails. If they haven't, then they've clearly not really considered you when booking it and that's just so poor... if you don't enjoy it, maybe you could arrange something else? xx

I don't understand at all why they've booked a cocktail making session when they know for a fact you don't drink! It's like booking a race experience day or something for someone that doesn't drive - totally pointless! It's your hen and it should be something you want to do! At least you can make non-alcoholic cocktails, but that's not the point really xx

Hopefully you can find out if they can make non-alcoholic cocktails for you but still crazy they thought you would like this xx

Id be raging if my sister done that to me, Im having a cocktail making class (Although im not supposed to know that) but thats what I want and my sister done everything she could do get it booked during the weekend away.
If it was me and there was no non alcoholic cocktails it sit it out let them do it as thats who its been booked for its not been booked for you. I think its quite selfish of them to book you this when its not something your remotely interested in.

It's almost as if they are doing something which they will enjoy and not bothering about you. You can make some mocktails up so it won't be a huge waste, but still not the kind of thing you want to do. It's a little wrong that she 'accidentally' let it slip, you don't come out with that much information 'accidentally'.

My my said it was on nearly every hen party package they saw and that I can just make make non alcoholic cocktails. Sounds like a excuse to me, I know they both dink and nearly all of my party drink too so it will be fun for them. I'd ask if it was a joke to keep me off the scent of what you are really doing, if its a joke, she will take it lightly, if its not, then she should feel ashamed. why would they plan something they know full well you will get zero enjoyment out of? that is so unfair. you are not being unreasonable in the slightest. it is YOUR hen do, so you should be doing the things YOU enjoy.
If they want to 'make' something, why not cupcakes, or chocolate, why alcohol?
if its on 'most' of the packages, i think id want to be knowing what else you would be doing as well, i wonder if the packages it wasn't on, you would have enjoyed more

My bridesmaids are organising my hen and I don't know whats going on, which is fine. Like you I am teetotal so my absalute nightmare would be a bar crawl or cocktail making thing and even worse... a stripper... :-( I can't stand them. Thankfully my bridesmaids have had this drilled into them enough that if they pulled a stunt like that their positions as bridesmaids may be compromised.

I couldn't deal with a stripper ither, wouldn't know what up do. I don't know, I hope it is a joke and it is some thing else but I'm not sure. My oh wasn't happy about it ither as he has got exactly what he wants for his stag do. He said it would be like sending a veggie to a meat market lol! I'd be upset, sounds like they want to do it for themselves and not thought of you. Ask if they do non alcoholic cocktails and if not then say you want it cancelled and say what you want.

Nope, not had a drink for the past 12 years, realised I didn't actually like the taste, I've tried sips of drinks since to see if there is anything I might like but nothing so sparkling water for me when I'm out.

I totally feel your pain my sister and friends are organising my hen do and my selfish sister has been trying to book a weekend away as her partner has attended many stag dos abroad and she wants to get pay back. I hate being away from my husband to be so I have told her I would hate that, she is still not listening and looking for one night away somewhere it's so annoying when it's suppose to be about you and you have no control of the plans. All I can say is I'm sure they will have mocktails for you to make and drink and it will be a laugh with all your friends and fingers crossed they have some activities booked that you actually enjoy doing!

In dream land-I'm the same I just don't like alcoholic drinks at all I have tried lots and lots and just don't seam to like any. So it lemonaide or diet coke when I go out.
Maria- I'm glad it's not only just me that has no controls of what they are doing. I will make the most of it and just enjoy the company I will be in. I may enjoy the atmospher and just hope I can make non alchuc coctales. As for you, if you sister really insists on making you stay away for a nite, the just try and make the most of the company you will be in. You can always text and call you oh (I know it's not the same) and just try and tell you self it's just one nite. Xx

Its really selfish for them to organise something they know you don't like. If it makes it anymore bareable, a friend went to her friends hen the other day and they did cocktail making and were in stitches because the bar man told them that when you shake a cocktail up, people make their sex face. I doubt this is true but it could make it a lot funnier watching those that get really involved.
I hope there is something else organised that is much more to your taste x
