God - I haven't even started looking for dresses! Scary thought. I am going next Friday to start looking though with my mum and sis (who's also my BM). Got our invites, DJ, venue, photographer, decorations, chair covers and some other decorative bits and bobs, favour boxes / place cards etc, but that's all! Have got loads to sort out!

Ooooh I got soo excited when we gave notice a few weeks ago. We went like 3 days after the 12 months ticked round. I need to finish my invites and might find my dress next week when my bridesmaids are both around for some shopping. If I get that done before summer hols finish for me at the end of the month I will have achieved everything I wanted to

Well I went for the first time on tues and I normally hate things like that but it was good fun. Tried loads on but was fed up of standing around in my underware by lunchtime. So I don't think I could do 3 appointments in 1 day although you will have a better idea of what you want after the first one. So it gets quicker and easier.

I was really nervous. I got my moh to make the appointments! I don't think it helped me having hear all the stories of horrible shop assistants on here. However all the people I have met so far have been amazing. I might even go back to one shop just purely because of the service I received. 2 hours is about the right length of time. Any longer without a break would drive me crazy anyway.

I spent about 90 mins in one shop and tried on every single dress I wanted to plus a load I would never have picked up but the assistant insisted and I've changed my opinions completely. If memory serves you are going tomorrow? Give me an update once you're back please! I just know you will have a lovely day.

I've run out of card and ribbons for my invites but my BM is visiting on sun through til wed so might drag her craft shopping. And my moh has planned my hen do already! She just wants a list of guests and for me not to ask questions! Now that is a litle scary!

Wow you lot are so organised, I feel so behind! Only just starting to think about things like invites! We know we want to make them ourselves but not really sure what style, I've only got as far as sending off for some free samples to give me some inspiration! And we've just increased our daytime guest list to about 120 which means more invites, orders of service etc to make!
I've been dress shopping once, about 3 weeks ago and loved it, but did get a bit hot and bothered by the end! I can't wait to go again but I'll have to wait until I'm back in England as I've just moved to France. Still need to sort things like flowers and cake too.

Lofty - don't let us stress you out hun - you've got loads of time to do stuff. I'm only being organised so I can use my six weeks hols effectively as once I'm back in school I'll be back to having no spare time again!

I've finished my daytime invites today too - took me 4 hours (but I only had to do 30) and I'm so pelased with them! Got 50 evening invites to do though so will save them for when I have more energy ha!

The problem is I'm also a teacher!! But I've lost my 6 weeks hol this year as I've moved to France (becuase H2B works there!) and I started in my new school this week, so I only actually got 2 weeks off and had to move countries in this time! And I keep seeing things that I want to order online but can't have it all delivered out here - either too costly or won't be able to transport it all back before the wedding, and I don't want to keep getting everything delivered to my sisters house when I'm not there! I get two weeks off in October so hopefully will be able to get lots of wedding planning done then as I can go back to England.

Lofty, I was told all the new dresses come into the shops around sept/oct so actually it is probably the best time to go!

Have now bought bridesmaid bouquets and have seen 2 dresses i want them both lol but need to choose one. My sis was with me for one and my moh was with me for the other so i am so gunna have to drag my sister to see the dress that my moh seen with me as my moh lives away and is only up once every so often. I to am a teacher and wanted to get loads done this 6 weeks and have only done a small amount of what i had hoped to get through xxx

Congrats maryann! I couldn't bring myself to buy my dress online. I'm far too much of a control freak lol. Sounds like you have a fair amount sorted esp if your venue comes with catering?

Jen, I'm sure you won't and if you do tell them (like I did lol) that you can't put a price on customer service and if they couldn't even greet me at the door with a smile I sure as hell am not giving them any money! Not managed to get pics up but both dresses I'm debating are maggie sottero. One is called mirin and the other adelaide. I think adelaide is the dress but need time in both again to be certain.

I am a primary school teacher. so i teach everything lol. I cant upload dresses using a very poor note pad and it would cause me far to much stress to even try. One of my dresses is a mori-lee dress by madeline gardner and i only have a style number which is #2189 and the other is not a designer one so it would not be possible to even search for it on internet xxx

Clarabella i am having my wedding on the same day 28th July and as my partner is in the navy we are having a royal blue, silver white and touch of black in the colour themes and also butterfly haha! :)

i have the church booked, the recpetion booked and nearly all paid, the invites all made for evening and day, the bridesmaid flowers and my flowers sorted, my cake sorted including personal toppers,order of services (the outside) the inside has to be done yet, table names all sorted, guest list basically sorted, lighting, chair covers booked, dj booked, toast master booked. My dress ordered bridesmaid gifts sorted, favours sorted :) x

Haha don't panic I just think while my partners away it gives me the time to do it, I don't think I would b so organised if my partner was at home right now!! And I just wanted to get the most of it paid before Christmas so I don't have to worry about the expensive! It's unreal how much weddings bloody cost lol ... Your getting married one day before me ;) x

oh and Sijen thanks for that site you gave me the other day i found the bridesmaids dresses that i want £40 cheaper on there :-) xxx
