It's like a leaf/light emerald green. Basically a light summery green that isn't sage! Although the exact shade has always been up for debate based on the BM dresses that we could find. The h2b says there are some dresses the right sort of colour in Sheffield so might make the journey on sat if moh can make it.

Love, love... Here we are.

Ah no. What a pain. Did you check Dessy hun? THey do all kinds of colours and are stunning dresses.
I can't believe we've only got 12 weeks left. All daytime invites have gone out and we have received about half RSVPs but they have until 10th May anyway so not stressing just yet. Love getting them back.
Going to write out evening invites this weekend and send them out next week. Hoping our rings will be delivered mid May and my dress should be in end of May...can't wait.

No I didn't Jen. I've just checked though, and there is a dessy retailer in Hull (where I am) and Sheffield where we might end up on sat. So thanks!
Apart from dresses I really want to sort out music choices so I can fill in the registrar form and pay that off before all the other bills start coming in but just can't seem to find the motivation for that job.
CommentAuthorMRSL2BE
Oh Kat, I bet you wanted to throttle them at the time!! What website was it?? I got my BM dresses from JJ's House website, came a few weeks ago, OK length but the girls will have to wear small heeled shoes or they will look stupid. Hope they can sort it out for you!
I'll write on your wall which website it was MRSL2BE. Hopefully I'll have a positive update if my weekend is successful and then i will be much happier.

Went to a dessy store today (thank you Jen!) found a lovely dress, now just need to find the money and have it agreed by the BM's and ordered by thurs or no chance of them arriving in time for the wedding!
CommentAuthorSijen
Ooh exciting. Which one did you get? They are lovely aren't they? You should be able to get it pretty quickly. We ordered ours in November and it's coming in end of June but that's because it's one month before.

Thanks. I'm only having one (my sister) so it was really easy to just go and pick one and then get the colour to suit her skintone. Much less hassle.

Thanks MRSL2BE
The dresses have been ordered today and will arrive the last week in June. Can't go for fittings til the 7th July though due to a pesky hen do! Also ordered the cravats and handkerchiefs for the men now I have a colour swatch for the actual dresses. The original dress company emailed me today to say they would be happy for me to return the dresses but that I didn't have the returns address. They then didn't tell me where to send them! More annoyance!

Got to see my bridesmaid dresses for the first time at the weekend, thought i'd share them with you...I'm so happy. Pictures don't show the colour really well...there royal blue and with a baby blue/silver trim...

Hi Kat, just had a sneak look @ the dresses. Awful the way they can treat things!! Hope you ended up getting the address from them?? You could of threatened them with a Breach of Contract!!
Picked up our first banns certificate yesterday, we had to attend the service so we could hear the Rev call our names out :-) Have to admit I got all giddy when he announced the wedding hahaha. Next set of Banns will be called out next month only in my Church now. Everyone keeps telling me to make sure we enjoy the day because it will just fly over!!
Really can not wait now. I've got my first dress fitting this month so I still need to find shoes ... they have to be flat ones because in heels I tower over my hubby2be hahahaha you would think that that would be easy but it's proving more diffcult to find THE PAIR lol!!!
CommentAuthorKat
Hi MRSL2BE they have so far refused to give me the returns address and instead, rather insultingly, offer me 15 per dress refund. I couldn't fix all the problem for that!!!!
Ooooh it's all getting excited now. I will post where I got my shoes from on your wall (I think they do flats)
CommentAuthorKat
Thought I would make some noise in here again since we all seem to have got quiet.
Lots of things have arrived through the post for me recently. Cravats, hip flasks, honeymoon underware ;) I've also bought pyjamas for me and the BM's for when we are getting ready.
Work are taking me out for a hen night on fri so the men folk can join in. Actual hen do is at the end of June
CommentAuthorSijen
Oooh Kat you're on weeks now!! How exciting! I went down to 1 month today although it was 2 yesterday.
We're meeting with our venue on Thursday to discuss finer detials and pay 50% of the balance. I've got my hair trial next Monday and then meeting with florist next Thursday. My dress isn't in the shop yet so can't go for the fitting I'd hoped I could do next week, but I'm going to ring them again on Thursday to check delivery.
Mines the 28th of july this year too clarabella :-) Colour scheme is Fushia

Good for making some noise Kat! Hows everyone feeling as its getting sooooo close? :) i never planned a wedding before, knew nothing about planning one so a little bit nervous that i've forgotten stuff but other than that i'm super excited. I start a new job on june 11th so trying to tie up as many loose ends as possible before that. We've got final meetings with the venue and registrar booked in. My dress is pretty much ready, i had a fitting on saturday gone and this saturday i'm hoping that Jason can finally make a decision on the suits bless him. Just a couple of little bits and bobs and we're ready :)
Hows everyone getting on? much left to do?

I'm on 39 days now, less than 6 weeks!
I've got a busy weekend booked in on 8th - 10th June with final dress fitting for me and bridesmaids, meeting with venue, priest, photographer, a dance lesson and i'm sure some other things that i've forgotten to mention. I'm then not back in England again until 8 days before the wedding.
We've now got all of our RSVPS so we need to finish our table plan and table names and lots of other small bits and bobs. I'm also having a few bridesmaid nightmares as shoes and dresses don't fit different bridesmaids! But hopefully they'll be sorted soon.
It is getting so close now, so exciting!
Very happy to say I'm now Mrs Keates and loving it!

Kat, hope everything got sorted out?
Well had my dress fitting, next one (and hopefully last one fingers crossed) is the 5th July!! Finally got my shoes (after 3hrs walking around town looking). Finally ordered my O of S, paid of the photographer off who is also lending us a camera for the honeymoon (no extra charge). My HEN NIGHT is this Saturday - can not wait!!
There are loads of things to remember you can never think of them all at once hahaha - Either way we're getting there lol This countdown til the day is getting faster and faster :-O

MRSL2BE I am still in talks with the website about how much money they will refund me. In this time I have managed to move them from £40 for both dresses to £65. They cost me £75 each. So movement in the right direction but not good enough.

Ooh MrsL2Be - how exciting?!? My dress came in today and I've booked my first fitting in for next Wednesday...it's a pain as the seamstress is only in the shop on a Wednesday...how annoying? She was originally trying to give me 4.30pm on 20th June. I said no as I'm in work and I didn't want to be really rushed in the fitting...it's going to be a challenge I know!
Anyway, she finally said they can fit me in at 3.30pm next week (I begged as it's half term and I'm free all day and therefore no need to rush). So it's booked.
Really cannot wait!!!

Kat you should have gone and seen a Solicitor, they breached the terms of the contract!!
Sijen, mine only works on Wednesday's as well, the only reason I went down last week was because I was in that area getting my hair done (miles from where I live) & I was told that I should of had in at the end of April but I thought that was abit too early for a fitting. The seamstress was telling me "walk up and down love, walk up and down" in the end I said I can walk in this dress for hours so there's no need to tell me twice hahaha. Really looking forward to my hen night though my sister has bought me all my stuff but wont let me see them til Sat lol.
I really cant wait either hun, I've told any & everyone about this wedding, even clients who come into the office know about it & now they ask me how many days are left!! x

MRSL2BE I did get a soliciter involved as well as the citizens advice. Because the company isn't registered in the uk there isn't much they can do. They are doing something about the lack of returns address as you can do business in the uk without making one easily available apparently

It is now June, so we're getting married NEXT MONTH! 5 weeks tomorrow for me. I've just had a text from my jeweller with a photo of my wedding ring which has finally arrived in the shop, so we're going to look at that next week too. I've been ordering lots of little bits and bobs, mainly off the bay in the last few days too. It's getting so close now. Only 4 more weeks left at work for me before the wedding, I'm sure it will fly by!

I'm a teacher in an international school in Switzerland and luckily we break up for summer 8 days before the wedding (well, not lucky, I planned the wedding that way!) so hopefully that will give me plenty of time to do last minute things! But no time off between now and then. A month or so ago wedding planning pretty much stopped as I was busy helping my students prepare for their exams, but now all of my exams are done wedding planning is definitely being put before school work! It's all I think about!

So I have a few things to update 1- we have had 2 no rsvps to the day so a total of 6 people all from h2b family his only uncle and aunt as well as his cousin her husband and their 2 kids. I was so upset for him as he only has a really small family and he now only has 8 people from his family attending!!!! i have over 20. gonna have to just mix everybody up in church no bride and groom sides.
2- my friend who was going to sing in church and do a set during the drinks reception has pulled out as her other half who is the guitarist has to work and she cant get to the wedding and cant do a set without the guitar. Im hoping i can figure a way of getting her to the chuch to sing then and just get a playlist for the drinks reception.
3 - I now have my wedding dress went for my final fitting on saturday and its now hanging up in my mum & dads spare bedroom waiting for me!!!!
4 - We just celebrated my cousins wedding yesterday which means i am officially next!!!! only 6 weeks left and just little bits to do now.
o and my hen do is next weekend in liverpool!!! woo cant wait its going to be soooooooooooooo much fun. xxx

Woooo how exciting for you Lows. Sorry about your rsvp's and singer. Could you get a backing track for her to sing to? Just a thought.
I've got my dress fitting tomorrow - bit nervous really.

We get married it a small village church at 2pm, then our rest of the day reception at our local club that we will pre decorate the day before. Having my 2 beautiful daughters as brides maids and my h2b 2 daughters as well. We all live together very happiely. Can't wait only 52 days to go.

Thanks guys, we are trying to sort out the singer and think a taxi might be our option as she lives almost an hr away from our venue so no way someone is gonna make that round trip to get her.
good luck with all the dress fittings ladies,
cant believe its only 45 days away!!!!!

Today is a dedicated wedding day. My moh is coming round after my doctors appointment and we are spending the day talking about hair, make up and then dress fitting. I might also try and get her to try on a few dresses since she is recently engaged and set the date for July 2014 (she obviously decided it was the best month to get married in!)
CommentAuthorSijen
Kat how did your fitting go? Mine was horrendous!
First of all, the dress shop measured me in August last year and told me I was borderline size 18/20 (in their sizes which annoyed me. I was a 16 at the time). They ordered the 20 as "it's easier to take it in than let it out" and even after saying I was on WW and definately going to lose weight - size 20 was ordered.
Well I have had nightmares all week thinking this dress is going to be huge and really panicked about yesterday, plus I've had a complete mare over bras.
Met my mum in town, goes into the shop and it was chocker - but full of kids running around, screaming and touching the dresses on display - the mum's were really scally and rough and that just got my mum's back up. So she's getting all huffy as the shop was really busy, phones going and another bride in after me.
Eventually the rough woman and kids left (think they only ran in to get out of the rain) and it calmed down. I was taken through to the fitting room where another woman was being fitted. Gets measured again as the woman was really concerned about the size of me compared to my dress?!?!? (That didn't help). Not only have I lost over a stone since buying the dress, I was measuring a 16 (their size) - I'm only a 12/14 now. I've lost inches everywhere and the dress fell off me!
I was really devestated. The poor seamstress was going spare asking why I ordered a dress this big? My mum was getting all wound up about it saying the other woman (not working yesterday) had pushed me to get that size.
Anyway, god love the seamstress coz she sure earned her wage pinning me into it. I'm going to lose about 3inches either side of the bust and down to 1 inch at the hips. She pinned me in so tightly it was brilliant and did look fab. I was pleased with it then.
Then my mum's saying it's too long and the seamstress was saying it was fine (it wasn't) so she ended up giving in to my mum and taking it up at the hem. So it's going to need loads of work doing.
Then I found out that I don't have any more alterations after this one - only a final fitting 2- 3 weeks before the wedding (booked for 11th July) to see how it is on and if everything is ok. So I'm now nnot allowed to lose any more weight when I really wanted to lose at least another 1/2 stone. I was a little disappointed at this - then my bra is completely wrong and I had a nightmare in the big bra shop trying to get a suitable one for them to adapt and sew into my dress.
I'm actually starting to feel the stress today and not liking it at all.
On another note, I did see the florist today to sort out final arrangements which was good. AND....got 2 prizes for our entertainment from Asda (£10 each - gorgeous presentation box with 3 mini Jack Daniel's and Absolute Vodka presentation case with 5 minis in - bargain).
Sorry for the long rant girls, I didn't intend to go on so much, I just couldn't stop typing ha!!

weight loss to date 6 stone

( just dont go mad and pig out or you'll have to let the dress out!! lol)
