Hi all we are in the process of talking about honeymoon destinations and we keep changing our mind one that we both agree on is Jamaica but none of us have been there or know anyone who has, if you have experienced a holiday or know any one who has and have any views on the place please any advise welcome :-) xxx

I know someone thats been, all he said was he stayed in what was like a village, but it was a huge complex.... i think it can be quiet rough, maybe little dangerous to wonder around..... but these hotels now like he said are like villages, and have their own beaches!

yeah my H2B said about having to be escorted by gunmen if you leave the premsis which is a bit like where he went in Dominican hmmmm desicions, we like the Maldives to but cant seem to find a place with a decent all inclusive deal will keep looking

been to both Jamaica and Dom rep and both are absolutely beautiful more to do in Jamaica swimming with dolphins rum tasting tours walking up the water fall in ocho rios perfect
Go to a tourist area we stayed in the sandals resort in negril and felt like celebrities every single day nothing is a problem and the 7 mile stretch of beach is stunning.
Go or organised tours as they are the safest but the tourist areas have gates in and out that no locales can get in xxx

I think it depends what you want to do..... if you are happy staying within your hotel/resort then Jamaica is fine - but it has a lot of run down areas, and a lot of violent crime... Mayble Antigua or St Lucia? Or Bermuda is stunning too... x

friend of mine was the at easter and another over the summer ...both loved it
i went to Jamaica in october last year and it was fantastic... even though i went with a right pleb! - my ex.. we stayed at the rose hall hotel in montego bay and they treated us like royalty. Its not that bad to go out and about, we even met one of the blokes in the hotel and went back to his village/shanty town for a night and it was amazing.. i would defiantly recommend it.. but make sure you tell them its for your honeymoon and they will really look after you, it was his birthday and we had loadsa special treatment and discounts .. its only kingston that is in trouble, i still keep in contact with a few people i met out there.

My aunty went to Jamaica last month and she said it was horrendous, the locals wont leave you alone and they had to run past them at one point cos they were that scared. they were making my aunty and uncle got to the bar and get them free drinks and they said they would never ever go back there xx

Jamaica is AMAZING full of culture spot on if you love bob marley and rum loads and loads to do and nice and hot lol
Hi Gemzy24 I had my honeymoon in Jamaica in May and it was truly amazing. I have photos on my page. People were wonderful. Scenery was out of this world. Locals can be tiresome with their constant trying to sell you trinkets and things but my advise is buy in the first day a rubber band bracelet and a bead necklace then for the rest of your holiday thank them politely but you have enough. Don't admit to it being your first time or first day. Use the excuse we fly home in a few days and they will leave you alone. Made some amazing friends and will definitely be going back. It was our first time and has definitely proved a memorable honeymoon for us. We were given the honeymoon cabin next to the wedding gazebo and we saw 3 weddings. Really given the special treatment.

We looked at the Sandals resort, for 2 weeks it worked out at over £4000! Mmmmm, bit out of budget!
