Hello.. We are getting married in September and were looking at going to Jamacia or Barbados for our honeymoon until i spoke to a woman at our local travel agents who said that we definately shouldnt go there as its rainy season n will be terrible out there, but, since then we have spoken to a few more people that have said yes it is rainy season but you only get it in short, sharp, bursts and probably only once in a week, they have also said the beause of how hot it is there its usually a relief to get it.. I was just wondering if anyone had been there round about September time and could give me a bit of advise.?? Thanks xx

yea it is short bursts of rain for like 5 mins then dry again. i would choose barbados as jamaica isnt very safe to go out the resort and the beaches are better in barbados xx

hi having come from the caribbean and traveled around most of the islands i do agree that Sept is rainy season but it gives such a relief from the heat......also have you considered any of the smaller less commercial islands, i can reccomend an island called Nevis (not because i am from there) but it is a really lovely little island and less commercial than Jamaica or Barbados just a thought happy planning and hope this help
and now the next chapter

I went to Jamaica in rainy season and it poured it down for 30 mins most lunch times which was perfect as it cooled us down while we got food and drinks before heading out into the sun after lunch. We stayed in Negril and it was beautiful, you can walk through around 8 resorts along the beaches. All the staff were really friendly. Dunns River and the appleton rum factory are a must see attraction if you go!
Soon to be Mrs Mawee!
