I shall post why, just in case it might help someone else out there who was in my predicament :) And you can understand why I'm happy about it!

Original date was 14th August 2013. We were going to have a church wedding (because my Mum is religious and had a massive strop) with family and friends (most of whom me and h2b don't speak too/like) then after scrimping pennies to pay for everyone to eat/drink all day, we were going to go to a pub / reception room and dance to cheesy disco music in the middle of Stoke-On-Trent.

Me and h2b finally admitted to each other that this wasn't the way that either of us wanted things - he wanted a big, grand affair and I wanted a, "Forrest - Gump" style wedding. After discussion, we have decided to postpone until next year and in April, when we have enough money together, are going to pay for our wedding in Turkey. :) With close friends / family - because we know that only the people who are actually bothered will come that far, beautiful location, beautiful weather and the ideal thing for both of us.

Sad that it has had to be put back (all the legalities / money we would need to raise wouldn't be ready by August) but in the end, it will be better for both of us. :)

SO if any of you are doings / organising things for family members who are being stroppy or that one friend who "hates everything" then don't. Do it for you and your h2b / w2b :) It'll be better in the long run.

Shame you've had to put it back, however now you are getting something you both want! Xx

Good for you! I'm so tempted to do the same, as I have a massive family, but my H2B is actually from Turkey and his family is about 3 times the size of mine!! Sod's law... Where abouts have you chosen? Hope you're wedding is wonderful, I'm sure it will be! :))

Well done for not being bullied into something you didn't want :-)
I have a friend who seems to be just going along with what her Mum wants as she's paying for it.
We're paying for our own wedding so no one has had a say on our wedding!!
And, if they do I'll tell them not to turn up ;-)

Aww that's where we're going too! We were going to get married at the blue lagoon but decided on one of the hotels now as we love the mountain look and this ones in the hills overlooking the lagoon! But we'll both have lovely days, nice and sunny!
