    Good morning!

I’ve woken up this morning and my mind is just in overdrive. My fiancé and I were due to marry in July 2020 however this was cancelled due to COVID. We have rescheduled for May 2021 but I can’t help but think we’re going to be in the same predicament now! Our venue is large and if we can still have only 15/30 guests it seems silly remaining there and do we switch things up completely and go for an initiate ceremony with just family? I just feel upset and confused and I came across this forum. I suppose I’m just wondering if anybody is feeling the same or finding themselves in the same predicament? I don’t feel like anybody else really understands! Xx

    Hi.
I totally understand how you feel. We are due to get married in june 2021 and I am freaked out by the thought of it. At this point we decided to just go ahead and plan as if we can have the wedding of our dreams but do keep a plan b of a smaller wedding with maybe 30 people in the back of our mind. We dont really want to reschedule as we planned this day for 2 years. However as my family comes from abroad a travel ban would mean we have to move the date as it wont be a true wedding for me without them there. A wedding with less than 30 people would not work for us I think. We are planning for outdoors ceremony in hope to get pictures without facemasks(but likely some distancing). We decided to review things in February/march and then make a decision, as right now its impossible to know what will happen. I just bought my dress so fingers crossed I got a wedding to wear it to. I have no perfect advise sorry. It's just keep calm and carry on for all of us at this point. And keeping in mind that it could be worse and is for many people who lost loved ones due to this pandemic. Stay safe

    Hi,
Totally understand your concerns. We were due to get married on 4th of July 2020 which was cancelled. New date is 5th July 2021 but I have similar feelings as I'm not sure if that date will go ahead either. My dress is ready, currently hanging in my wardrobe, our wedding rings are in a draw.... almost everything has been ready in March/April. Very confused as well ! The only thing we can do is keep positive although it's hard ! Xx

    Hi
I'm exactly the same literally in a state of limbo about what to do for the best...our wedding was 3rd July 2020..now 30th June 21
I'm panicking it won't go ahead again as the wedding of my dreams ( only dreaming of 80 guests dancing and hugging and relaxed) just a nice normal wedding but now seems unlikely because of restrictions possibly being in place still...I feel selfish as of the situation for everyone else at the moment ..and alone in no one understands apart from us ...almost feel like not going ahead but deposits on rooms and venue and too many things done and in place to give up...im worried if I leave it too late to decide on a new date in 2022 there will be nothing left ( good dates that work for everyone).
Its frustrating as too have relatives abroad that must come and had no hen or stag cause of covid...I just hate not knowing what to do...wish a medium could tell us

Hello! We are due to get married in April 2021 and we are holding out until Jan to make a decision! I think we would move ours unless we could have 60 guests. Takes all the excitement out of the planning though!

We're planning to get married 22nd May 2021. Everyone keeps telling me every thing will be fine but I am so unlucky i dont know if I should move the date. We have a backup date of 7th August but have to make a decision in January. My fiance doesnt want to push it back in case we do it unnecessarily but I just know if we dont push it back a few months then May wont be able to go ahead, and if we do push it back to August we wont have needed to. It's overshadowing all the planning and taking all the fun out of it :(

I really hope the COVID roadmap stays on course! It's so frustrating because so much effort and thought goes in to planning a wedding and it was such a horrible feeling last year when we were all told, nope aint happening :( all that energy and anticipation and tension just went no where. I'm due to get married on the 7th August and although we feel we've given a decent contingency of 6 weeks after all restrictions are supposed to lift, it's still really hard to trust that we wont have to move it all again. I suppose you just have to stay positive and commit yourself!

Eep, we're in this exact situation now! Our wedding is due to take place on July 31st. We thought we'd be well out of the woods but now the news is talking about a third wave and potentially extending restrictions - which we won't find out about until 6 weeks before the big day! Wondering whether to amend it to a small ceremony just to be on the safe side :( trouble is lots of our guests have already booked travel and accommodation and I imagine they won't be refunded...
